Default Rattle from timing belt area?

When rpm's are around the 2000-2500 range there is a rattle coming from the timing belt / cam gear area. If kept in between that rpm range the sound will remain constant. Anyone have any ideas what is wrong?

The timing belt was changed about 10,000 miles ago when the engine was swapped. There is no timing belt / cam gear cover (so they are exposed).

Thanks in advance.

Check your cam gear bolts that bolt to the came. Make sure they are tight. Maybe even get your valves adjusted just in case.

The bolt to the cam gear is tight. Any other suggestions?

Can the tension of the timing belt loosen over time? Thus, creating the rattling sound?

yah it is probably your timing belt flopping around and hitting the plasitc covers, cause it is either loose or the belt is old and stretched.

The timing belt does not seem to be coming in contact with anything.

Is it possible that a bolt is coming loose and that the rattling could be from the washer?

When my water pump started to go bad, it rattled and rumbled. Then it failed completely, locked up and snapped the timing belt.

I believe the problem has been fixed. A loose bolt on the A/C.
Thanks for everyone's input.

Now that you found the problem do yourself a favor and reinstall some Tbelt covers before you get some debris chucked in there and disintegrate the timing belt.
