Default Is it worth upgrading Hondata 3b to S100 series?

Is there any advantage to upgrading this? Ive heard its just harder to copy teh software, but on the website it says it has improved partial throttle, and basically better tuning ability. Is the improvment enough to shell out the $225 to get the s200? or should i just stick to the stage 3b?

I havent noticed any better partial throttle drivability from the 2b system to the s100/s200 systems. I tune both systems, there is really no advantage other than the nitrous control at this time. I wouldnt upgrade unless Hondata comes out with some more substantial features.

Honestly, i have noticed more probs with the S series units over the B series, esp with the partial throttle tuning . the only thing i see thme worth isd if you get all the tuning software and use the romulator and what not , makes tihngs go alot faster, other than that id stick with what you got, im still running my 4b and have no intention of upgrading

I have to agree although I upgraded so I could use the Romulator. Are you using the romulator then burning a chip as the 2.5 version when tuning older Hondata's?

I am using my "tuner hondata ecu" that I have set-up with the romulator and s200 tuner blue box with each car. I just tune off of that ecu, then when the tune is finished I switch the map from V3 to V2.5, burn the chip and install the customers ecu back into their car. I would just like to mention that the partial throttle hesitation that alot of Hondata users are experiencing is with the newer s100/s200 system. Itr206 and DC2R714 both are running built turbo set-ups, both identical engines. ITR206 is using the 4b system, while DC2R714 is using the s100 system. ITR206 doesnt have a single bit of hesitation, while DC2R714 does. I tuned both partial throttle maps in the same manner, but ITR206's 4b system doesnt have the hesitation issue.

to add to that it did have the hesitation every time we put it on jeff;s s200 to do the tuning , drove us nuts, thne when we vconverted back to be compatible with my 4b , problems went away everytime . . time after time.
thats why i never upgraded.
