Default Rear Jacking point bent... what to do

Well, my car is just a rusty POS. There is a big hole in front of the rear passenger wheel well that will require new sheetmetal. No problem. However, the little jacking tab has actually bent inwards towards the frame, rendering it useless. Has anyone had this happen? What's the best way to fix it? Also, can I just put a jackstand under a framerail?

You need to address the problem at it's root. By that I mean, the Canucks have no hope this year, so you might as well let them go, as hard as it may be. Declare affiliation with a real team such as the Red Wings. Then just put the jackstand under the framerail.

Oh you mean like how the redwings got SWEPT last playoffs????

So if I put the jackstand under the frame rails on both sides, there shouldn't be a problem?

The jacking points are connected to the frame rail. It will hold the car up just fine. Might crush the rusty metal though

Yeah, but that's usually where I put my jack to begin with. I jack up the whole rear end and then put the jackstands under the 2 points. Would it be possible to have the jack point welded back to the frame rail or something?

If not or it cost too much $$ I will do what sackdz said and just use the frame.

no...are you canadian?

you should know better!

don't jack you canadian cars by the body jack points! use other parts like the rear tow hook

rear trailing arm

but never the body...or you'll find you jack protruding inside the car one day

don't use the frame either because I bet if the jack point is rotted that frame rail will be too.

Doesn't seem like the frame is rusted... just that the point is bent. As for getting another car and going through all the hassle of a suspension swap (I have CRX Si suspension on my hatch) and the motor swap... no way.
