Default auto to manual conversion complete, but having some issues

hey guys i am posting again, i really need some advice
i just finished the conversion this past weekend
just having an issue getting the car started.
i changed the auto ecu with a manual ecu
when i put the key in the ignition the cluster registers its in the "D" drive position
when i crank it i only hear on click
can it be the starter or do i have to re-wire something?
also i dont know if it matters mut i am still using the auto ground wire
thanks in advance

did you ground out the neutral safety switch? If you didn't i'd bet that's your problem, especailly if it thinks your in drive.

thanks for the quick reply
is the neutral saftey switch on the clutch pedal?
if so i wired those up to the old auto harness in the shifter console.
if not can you clarify on the location, i dont have the helms manual in front of me.
i did more searching and found some info.
basically it said to hook up the old auto slider and put the car in park
then start it. I will try this later tonite.
any other insight would be appreciated.
thanks

It's the part on the tranny that tells the car what gear it's in. So you basicly have to trick it into thinking it's in park.
