Need opinions on preventing further rust...
I'm getting ready to pick up an EG hatch. It has the usual over the rear fender rust. A 2-inch hole above each wheel...
I'm not going to be able to fix it until spring, as it will be a winter beater before it becomes a project.
I'm just wondering if there are any reccomendations as to prevent rust from starting in the bottom of the seam, behind the doors, as it seems like that's where the water would collect.
Could I spray some oil in there, or would Krylon rust-preventer, or WD-40 work?
Any suggestions would be great.

rust = cancer
it spreads, gotta cut it out or replace whole thing, or do the whole cutthen bondo crap -as for prevention, i did undercoating in wheel wells ( its like whats underneath car and gas tank ) and the **** is still there after a year.
Dont know if i would do doors with it tho ..
