I just installed a SMSP testpipe, with my Apexi N1 exhaust and JDM 4-1 Header and mann my ears are soo deaf....I put in the n1 resonator and its still loud....any1 have experience with this and what did they do to resolve this besides earplugs, also it makes my car vibrate....
That's odd. I've been in an ITR with a JDM 4-1, test pipe and Apex'i N1. It was rather quiet ...
But that's compared to a Spoon header, Carsound, T1R Bpipe and Spoon N1.
Besides the cat, double check if you have any exhaust leaks from the header to test pipe.

i doubt an exhaust leak will add to the db of your current setup. is your exhaust new?? if it is that might be yur culprit. as the muffler gets gets more miles under its belt it will start to quiet up.
when i first installed a greddy exhaust it was just alittle it louder then stock, but after a month or so the exhaust sound became nonexistant. this also occured with my current setup, carsound cat and T1R 2.5" exhaust. it was really loud when i first installed, now after 5 months it has quieted alot.

maybe your hearing just deteriorated?
as to the original poster, install the silencer or put a cat on.. should quiet things down a bit..

already put the resonator in my n1 exhaust...im gonna check for exhaust leaks tomrrow, but I doubt its that knowing that a local muffler shop installed it
My R has a DC JDM 4-1 header, carsound cat & an Apex N1 catback. Without the baffle in the N1 it's only loud above 4500 RMP's. But, remove the cat & ude the test pipe, I FOUND OUT WHAT LOUD IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I used the baffle with test pipe to make it too the track & it sounded naisily & weird.
I got testpipe, Apexi N1 - i don't think it is all that LOUD I read of before I had it installed - especially not in the car, but it is loud enough though - i like it!
I am also planning on swapping my SuperSprint headers with either JDM 4-1 or a TODA 4-2-1 - will there be much difference in the sound level - just by changing headers? I thought headers didn't do that much difference in sound...

Loud, huh? What? Come again?
The Test pipe does make it all louder, either a High Flow cat (will quiet it) or adding another Resonator (just might quiet it a bit.)
Oscars car is still by far the loudest, when riding with him I can't hear my own thoughts
My car is damn loud now too but, the HF cat did 2 things, it got louder than a stock cat for sure but, is quieter than without altogether. Thanks again for the ear plugs guys, they were a great idea
I gotta admit also that the Spoon header does make the exhaust tone louder. Even with it alone and my stock exhaust, everything got louder and deeper. Rodney's exhaust note changed also when he went from the Spoon header to the Toda. Same or similar performance gains different clearance and sound for certain.
I been through loud and quiet but, gotta admit, our cars sound totally awesome at 8,000 RPM with a quality loud exhaust. Booklers civic is the epitome I've heard thus far (very angry sounding) but, I wouldn't want it THAT loud.

it's the N1 muffler...change that out to something a little more street/cop friendly. dynomax turbo muffler gets my vote...silent like stock, even with a test pipe, exhaust piping w/o a resonator and a header. with out a major compromise as far as flow characteristics.
@ 1st I had a the N1 c/b & a CD USDM 4-1 header with stock cat. Then change to a DC JDM 4-1 with a h/f cat. A good bit louder with JDM & h/f cat. I've installed headers on cars that already had a c/b system before & it did change the exhaust note & volume.

that's looks like my set up
anyway, I think my car (with silencer) is MUCH quite than your car (spoon header, HF cat, T1r b-pipe and spoon n1 muff) when driving in highway.
