i really dont want this thread to turn into another popularity contest

we all know ef-1 > toda

it really just depends upon your whole setup. all of the cams out there can get you to 200whp

as rocket posted:
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">
Airflow Path (Any weak point in this path and you'll ruin your NA power)

Intake--&gt;TB--&gt;Manifold--&gt;Headwork--&gt;Cams/springs--&gt;Header--&gt;No Cat--&gt;2.5+ exhaust piping--&gt;2.5+ straight through muffler.

1) Intake: AEM or ICEMAN
2) TB: ITR or larger
3) Manifold: ITR or better
4) Headwork: RLZ, JG, HondaSaver, Portflow, Alaniz, etc
5) Cams: ef-1, RLZ, JUN, Toda, Skunk2. Their bigger cams run at tighter lobe centers, 290+ gross duration
6) Header: DC JDM 4-1 or better
7) No cat
8) Exhaust Piping: 2.5+ Inch. Accordingly Done is nice
9) Muffler: 2.5+ inch straght thru. Apexi N1 is nice

Note:
1) The more displacement the better. The bigger the bore the more air you'll flow.
2) CP pistons are real nice and help power production
3) CR doesn't need to be sky high. 10.7 - 11.5 on pump gas is fine
4) Stock ignitiion is fine with good plugs gapped at 0.035 - 0.038"
5) SPEND MONEY ON TUNING. All motors like slightly different cam, fuel and ignition settings. Hondata is my choice here.
6) Pick an engine builder who uses a good machine shop and can properly assemble everything.</TD></TR></TABLE>

there is your ingredient for 200whp

its not one thing, its everything that will get you there

as far as cam shafts?

as long as they arent total crap, if everything else is good and works together well, then you can easily hit 200whp with just about every cam you have listed in your choices

if you arent at 200whp with those cams

invest money into getting better parts that rocket listed

seen dynos of ITR's making 200whp...there are a lot of variables that go into play when deciding whp. More displacement always helps.

jg valvesprings? with top fuel cams? is that what u mean?

many people with proper tuning and decent bolt ons have hit 200whp with itr cams.
epgonzalez hit 200 something hp with his stock itr cams.

i can't wait to try out ef-1 cams

I gree with Bob- you could essentially have GSR cams, and if the rest of your parts are good- get 200 whp.... this question is goofy! I've seen people make 200 whp on B16 cams.. granted there was alot of $$ elsewhere.. but you get the idea

i guess you could do it if you have a resleeved b18c w/ 84-85 mm pistons. i mean...it'd make 200 hp because of sheer displacement, but it could make a lot more.

I made a little over 200whp on itr cams, on a stock b18c5 block.

It was my old set up. Stock b18c5 block, DPR ported & polished GSR head, skunk 2 mani, itr cams, JDM itr header. VAFC, cam gears and fpr for tuning. Tuned at Dynamic in OC. It was a fairly simple set up and ran great.

i understand that the other mods (headwork, bore/stroke) make a more serious impact on the WHP, but im more curious about what cams the people who can eve get to 200 whp are using.

dragR- ive seen 201whp on a stock b16 bottom end with skunk2 stage 1. 200whp on a b18c5 block isint hard.

I've made over 200 whp on my CRVT-dyno here on HT. JUN III cams, STOCK bottom end- hell I even used a STOCK GSR intake plenum!

Most people seem to be using the GsR head to reach 200 WHP in this thread. Is using the PR3 head going to pose any problem?

ttt- looks like the majority of people are using skunk2 cams to make the power, im assuming stage2's

ill be trying with a stage 1 and hope to hit 200whp. does anyone know what kinda gains i might see going from a stage1 cam to a stage2 cam and nothing else change but tuning?

if u r not changin anything...u can def hit 200 whp with stage 1's just havea sick header & exhaust combo...basically u r gonna have to come out of ur pocket...if u have doe and can wait..get either SMSP/hytech/DTR/Toda..those r some good headers.. and even one of their exhaust systmes...hondata some and anything that can help u gain compression like a mugen headgasket...and cam gears..most important a good tuner!!
