you'll most definitely need a new turbo manifold and maybe even a new turbo application because the head of the h22 and h23 are different, i'm not 100 percent sure but hopefully someone will get on and back me up, they'll probably be able to provide you with more information as well

you'd need a different turbo manifold for sure. Will you still do it? If so we can keep going, but if not I'd rather stop

Hmm....boosted h23 vtec.....sounds cool, and complicated.

But if you just want more power, why not get a better set of cams and run even boost?

Ummm......no point to get a vtec head if ur turbo. Im assuming ur on a stock block/pistons. I sday u save for sleeving/pistons/rods/etc.

lmao, it's been done quite a few times, check out gudeh23, boostedh23a1, there are numerous preluder's with h23's that have boosted, just find any of those guys and they'll be able to tell you their set ups

I guess u missed the whole thing about the turbo, huh?
I wouldn't waste my money on it if it was me.

Let's add this up.
300 dollar head
400 dollar mani
labor and all other parts needed ~ 300 (i'm just guessin on this one)

So that's about 1000. For that money you can get an lsd or pistons and rods, or sleeve your block.

The amount of money you spend on converting to the vtec head can be put towards doing headwork on the h23 head.

As stated above, look at gudeh23a. Look at the headwork he had done. I'm sure his head is flowing just fine. Maybe more money invested but I feel its more reliable then putting together a h22 head on an h23 engine. Just my opinion. I could be wrong but that's how I saw it when I looked into doing an h23vtec turbo. I scrapped the idea and now have a spare h23 head in my garage that will be sent out for headwork.

sorry guys didn't mean to make anybody mad...i was just saying if he had the money it would be good to do but of course i would build my block first...i know there are plenty of straight h23's makin tons of power...thats what im tryin to do...i have godzilla sleeved block arias pistons, crower rods and h23 head...all i was saying was in the beginnning before i got the rebuild done... i wanted to do the h22 head along with the built block but decided against because that would be diving too deep into my wallet than i wanted to go at that time...i just know that it sux to have taht low redline....sorry again didn't mean to set people off

No problem, man...But with proper headwork you can rev safely above the stock redline. And besides, it isn't always necessary....Again pointing to Gudeh23a, he made 400+ before 6,000rpm...Really, do you need any better than that? What are your intentions for the car?
