Clutch grinding when I shift...is it the clutch or tranny?
I'm still pretty new to car stuff. I have a 94 integra ls and I have a fairly new 4 point racing clutch that I got back in March 2003. It's having the hardest time shifting to 2nd gear smoothly, but have also had problems getting it to shift smoothly in 3rd and 4th gear sometimes. The higher the RPMs before shifting to 2nd, the more difficult it is to shift. Anybody have any suggestions? Need help please.
is it grinding when you shift? or is it just difficult to put into the gear itself?
how many miles on the car?
4-puck clutches aren't exactly smooth engagement

it grinds when i shift, it's ok when it's not moving... i know the 4puck clutch isn't the smoothest but this is ridiculous...it was fine for the first 3 or 4 months.
the more RPMs, the more it grinds........usually a synchro problem, usually 2-3 is the start of it and it gets worse from there on......my synchro started going out around 70,000 miles.....replaced entire tranny w/ an ITR tranny.....best upgrade ever!!
It is your tranny. Mine does that when I go into 3rd gear, you will need a new tranny soon, as you keep driving it you will start to feel it doing weird things when you shift. take care of that problem. Good luck!
