Isnt that a bad thing??? I thought when you cut fuel per say hitting the rev limiter that you would creat a lean situation and cause detionation and blow the engine. is this true? I also had thought that that is why puting a ingnition type of rev limiter was a better way to solve the problem. please enlighten me on this situation

All I can say is I hit the rev limit all the time and my stock block hasn't blown yet.
I see your concern but with no fuel, the engine literally shuts off then back on again quickly.
Hondata could provide a more technical answer.

Here's my thinking...
If it cut ALL fuel then there would be nothing for the spark to ignite. If there is no explosion of fuel then there couldn't be much damage caused.

Compressed air with small particle content of gasoline can easily ignite and/or detonate. When the engine is moving dynamically, air is being pulled through the combustion chamber very quickly. The particle content of the fuel cut would be so small since exhaust scavenging is taking place, detonation would not occur.
Nothing will happen when you hit either the rev limiter, or boost cut. I have hit both many times before with my personal car, as well as customers cars. No damage has ever occured. 50trim EK's explanation is correct.
