Default MyWho is using ES engine mount inserts ??

I need to replace the rear engine mount insert on my 2001 ITR and I am considering using Energy Suspension polyurethane inserts. Has anyone used these ?? How much does the car "change" ?? What are your overall impressions of the inserts ?? Since my car is still under warranty, the dealer will replace the inserts under warranty but I'm thinking about upgrading with the ES parts. I appreciate the input..

The rear engine mount on an ITR is not an insert, it's a mount with rubber molded in it. If your's is defective or has failed, the entire mount will need to be replaced. If the dealer is going to replace the mount, you can install the ES bushings in the new OEM mount. They just fit in the empty spaces of the mount existing mount.

And I'm not using ES mounts, but have Mugen Mounts (all of them) and while they supress engine movement more they do transmit quite a bit more vibration and I'm told, the Mugen's are much better (in terms of less vibration) than the ES bushings, but I don't have first hand experience.

I have the ES mount inserts, would prefer the Mugen mounts since they are direct replacements, but I wasn't in the position to spend the $$ on the $$ Mugen parts.

.....also keep in mind that Jimfab makes replacement mount - not inserts.

If I had it to do all over again, I'd get Prothane inserts for the uppers and rear, and ES for the lowers.....

If I had to replace any mounts, I'd use Jimfab.

I have window welded OEM mounts as that stiffened a little better than ES inserts plus I didn't like the fact that they ziptie on.

OK, so I should let the dealer repair/replace the rear mount and then go home and install the ES insert ??

I have ES motor mount inserts as well (red to match the valve cover) They help tremendously, especially with an aftermarket clutch

Yeah, I missed that the first time I read your topic. Let the dealer replace whatever they can/ will. Then go home and install the prothane motor mount inserts. It includes the 2 upper and rear one. They are stiffer than the ES ones. Then install the ES lower ones. That should fix ALL of your motor mount woes. AND it will still come out a lot cheaper than the mugen ones.....

they get rid of wheel hop and really help put the power to the ground.

Honestly, I think the car feels like it should've come from the factory with them.

i can see there no downsides to performance part of it... but i'm talking every day driving.. and sitting at traffic light while eveything is rattling like hell? - is that what its like? i have opportunity to replace them, just want to know about the annoying part of it.

This route will be much easier since the rear mount is a real pain to get to and you have to take it completely off the car to get the insert in. It makes no sense to have the dealer take it out, put it back in so you could go home and take it out again.
