Default another one almost bites the dust

So it's just about the end of my shift when this guy I work with comes up and says, "uh, Mark, uh I got some bad news..."
I followed him outside to find my passenger side window shattered and the steering column hacked to bits. All of the pieces of the steering column were scattered on the floor along with broken glass, but my CD's, radio, sunglasses, garage door opener were all just sitting there untouched!!
They either wanted all or nothing or something spooked them.

Either way, I'm still F-ing pissed!! I tried to start the car but they really did a number on it, the key just moved freely in the ignition. It's on it's way to the dealership first thing Monday morning.

I just can't believe the number of instances of this sort of thing happening lately!

Anyway, just wanted to share, esp. with you AZ owners out there- BE CAREFUL!

Whew... I guess you're lucky (?) that it didn't get stolen! You're best bet is to get some sort of paging system... that way at least you are aware of on-going situation.

Damn, you sure are lucky. Who wouldn't want some kinda warning that their car is being targeted. Take it for what it is. Sucks you have to fix damaged parts but aleast you still have the kaa.

vago- who is seriously thinking twice about visiting relatives in AZ.

There was just another member here from AZ whos car was stolen, Becareful looks like its starting to be a problem down there. Do you have an alarm? If not Get one at least it might scare them off a bit.

No alarm just yet, which is the real bite in the ***... Just this past Wednesday I went to get an alarm installed b/c of all the instances lately, and Circuit City doesn't do installs on Wednesdays!!!! So I figured I would be ok until Monday or so. **** luck.

Most likely NOT a professional thief because 1) Broken glass, and 2) They couldn't get it started!... At least this means an alarm might keep that a$$hole away from your car next time. Get a pager alarm, so even if no one else responds to the alarm's noise, YOU will.
Good luck, and don't assume they won't try again!

Definitely get a alarm with paging system....around here it seems like we need it lately. I wouldnt go to circuit city unless you know someone (installer) there. Their are alot of reputable install shops in the valley, I would try one of those... whatever alarm you buy be it $100 or $1000 it is only as good as the install. I would recomend Soundwerks in Phoenix...ask for Guy, he is the owner...They do very clean top notch installs....

With all these thefts in the Phoeniz area, I'm getting worried about taking my R to Phoenix. I sometimes attend track events at PIR with my R. Is PIR & the nearby area like Goodyear, AZ a high risk area for the R to get stolen? Where are the areas to avoid in Phoenix? Thanks.

I'm kinding thinkin' we should all remove the city, st from our Honda-tech ID's. This gives any theif a pretty good indication of where our ITR's are located. A quick search in Yahoo with City, state and your email can turn up your address and then a day or so later, no ITR Just my $.02

It happened around 24th St. and Camelback in a VERY well lit parking lot. I also work with a girl who owns a 2000 PY and she was parked 2 spaces away from me!!
Not that I wish it was hers instead, but I just wonder why they chose mine.

When I get it back, I'll definitely be adding an alarm before I drive it to work again, and it will have a pager system so I know when those fockers are practicing their car theft abilities on my car again.

Make SURE you add hood "pin" sensors under the hood..so if tehy pop the hood from the outside...the alarm will sound.
