Default Swap woes : B18C-R / 92cx

Car: 92cx
Ecu: Kenji p28
Motor: Jspec b18c-r

Problem: I have heard that it IS possible to use the b18c-r engine harness. "Plug and play"
But i am having problems with where the plugs are.
The pic below is of both harnesses being compaired.

Top: 92cx harness
Bottom: b18c-r harness
Please notice the line showing where the fuel plugs are.

If the plugs dont reach, extend them and make them reach.

My mechanic got it working ... I think I'm still running the EG rear taillight harness, everything else is R. We had to do a custom job on the fuel pump connection as well.

What questions do you have ... I could take a pic of something if you know what you need to see.

hes talkin about using the jdm type r ENGINE harness not the whole wiring for the entire car. and the reason the plugs are in different locations is because on jdm cars it is RHD and teh ecu is on teh left side of the car instead of the right so the jdm engine harness is reversed almost so you will have to either lengthen some of the plugs aor stretch as much as you can without breaking any wires. if i were you try to use that type r harness as much as you can but if you cant then use the CX harness and the cut all the necessary plugs u are going to need for vtec and O2 sensors off the type r harness. good luck

That would be easier man, but more $$.

I think you should just cut the plugs you need off the cx harness, and use as much of the R harness as possible.

sooo many topics on this...

the cheapest way: use your stock cx harness, and re-wire you altenator, distributor, and injectors (using the plugs from the jdm harness) and then add vtec wires.

the best way: find an engine harness from an obd2 integra (it-r or gsr). both will plug into your car, and u will be able to run an obd1 ecu.

alternative if u cant find the harness: use your stock CX harness, buy obd1 dizzy, altenator, and intejectors, wire up vtec.

I am looking for the plug and play alternitive while maintaining all the new goods..

Why would i want to use a obd1 distributer, altenator and injectors when i could use the new ones?

Yep, just drill a hole for the ODBII sensor and use the new wiring, etc.

u could buy new obd1 parts and plug and play with your stock harness + vtec wires.

if u wanna p&p while using all the stuff that came with ur motor, u need a 96-01 gsr or it-r engine harness

use your stock wire harness.... all you have to do is cut the old injector plugs and solder on the new injector plugs, and add the vtec, knock, iab wires.

Scot project,
You have everything you need to get the car running.

I've done this exact same swap.

The jdm harness will work. The only things you need to do are: 1. Cut some of the wiring loom on your main harness(the harness youre engine harness plugs into) so that they can stretch farther.
2. The only wire i could not get to reach was the thick white wire running from the alternator to the fuse box. So Just use that wire out of your stock cx harness and run it directly from the alt to your fb.

So just put that jdm harness back on your motor, drop it in, and stretch the wiring.

The only other thing you need to worry about is your Vtec solenoid.
The jdm itr motor's vtec solenoid doesnt use the oil pressure switch, but your usdm ecu will require you to have one.

So you can either get a usdm vtec solenoid w/ the pressure switch and run one wire
or
You can bypass it by taking the wire that would run to your pressure switch and tapping it into the wire that goes to the solenoid itself.
