Default Round Track help... U-Class and, Endurance

well, I have been helping my friends dad as a pit crew member in stock car racing, and while at the track I get to watch many different races from the beloved cart racing to the oh so entertaining Endurance that has to be one of the most enjoyable racing to watch. Well my question is does any one know what is required to race in the Endurance class, and or the U-Class?

The reason I ask about these 2 classes is because they seem to be the two cheapest, and from looks the most enjoyable/care free.

For thoughs that do not know what these are, the U-class seems to be stock/simi stock domestic 4 cylinders, I have seen many escort hatches, a few 4 door cavilers and a few Shelby daytona's (which seem to dominate over all)

the Endurance class is a bushal load of cars on the track all at once and just all out race, if there is a wreck they dont stock the race, you as a driver is the one that is responsable for getting out of the way (it get's real exciting... lots and lots of wrecks, it is kinda like teh dimition derby of racing) and there is no black flaging from what I have seen they all are manly late 70's early 80's trans am's camaro's and monty carlo's (all of which can be had for a few bones).

Any help or a push in the wrote direction for more information on these 2 classes would be great, I will do my own research as well. I will not be asking my friends dad for I already have and he was not able to give me a respectable answer.

thanks

It's kind of a bummer but circle track racing isn't on the radar of most of the people in this forum. This is partly because rules are often track-specific so, while they are great for people local to a track, there isn't much "cross-talk" beyond that small group. You'll have better luck finding someone at your local track who can answer your questions.

I'll warn you too that there will be some people ready to play the holier-than-thou card on circle track racing - comparing it to pro wrestling, disparaging it for the wrecks, making mullett jokes and so forth - but while I'm probably the biggest sushi-eating, west-coast liberal in this crowd, I think ovals rock.

it sounds like you already have the ideal "in", in the form of your friends dad. Like Kirk said, below the level of the nascar touring series, the rules are usually made up by the track itself. A lot of circle tracks have web sites now, and the rules are usually posted there, for example Old Dominion (manassass) and Hagerstown, which are the two circles I've been to, have all the info you need to go racing right on the web site.

thanks for the help you too. I think I may look to see if this track has a web site, or next time Im down there I can see if I can get close to a officail. As for what Knestis says is SOOO true. There is nothing like watching a bunch of fine red necks whip cars around a track like a bat out of hell then return to the pits to get toosted while drinking massive amounts of beer... this is when if you hit/bumped/passed illegaly.. or even leggaly...... you might find a fist in yuour face . But I dont think Endurance and U-Class are like that, I have never seen a fight or braw resualt from a race in either one of these. But with that said, I know the stock/modifide guys are ready to kill you after a race.

one last question that Im sure can be answered, in other forms of racing (such as honda challang, and other import orianted racing) do you have to dismantal your entire engine after the race if you come in 1st, 2nd, 3rd? because I know where I go, if you place any of the said, you have 15mins to do so or your disqualifide for cheating (they have to check your engine)

thanks
