What kinda tires you running?
Its ok to launch at higher rpms. I have a simular aet-up and launch around 5700 rpm with bridgestone potenzas.
You have to find a very remote location and practice your launches. Dont do launch after launch though get it some time to cool down in between.
Generally its the finesse between the clutch and gas. You want to give enough clutch to get it to grab, quickly but smoothly let the clutch out as traction can afford.
Practice.
Once I learned this with my car I went against a pal with the exact setup as mine and took him off the line huge.

What kind of 60ft did you get? Unless your running a stock VX on slicks your gonna spin off the line. The key is control spinning the tires. Even on drag radials I spin through 1st until the very end of the gear put it's still pulling and keeping the revs up.
I'd say pick up a set of BF-g radials and play with air pressure and practice launching and you'll see easy 14's..
Also, i was always told to Never feather the clutch, you will fry it like that.....

With my car the earlier I can get to vtec the faster Im gonna go. If I ease it off the line its takes a while for the engine to get going compared to launching at a higher rpm.
itr jdm swap.
