You can but if you boost too much...your ATTS system will get disabled if you spin the wheels too much. I would imagine it would eventually mess up your ATTS system.

Someone else please confirm this.

not flaming or anything but PetroGuyX, why would it be not recommended to boost an SH???

its perfectly fine
theres a way to remove the ATTS and slap on a base tranny but theres more to it than that....
most people have the misconception that the SH and the ATTS is bad for boosting...why???? i dont see why not? its just a base with a worthless 80lb. box added to it thats all

Logic, I just ordered a rev hard for my 98 Sh.
Once it arrives and i install, Believe me I will keep you/the prelude forum posted on it's progress. Also It's regulated to 7psi and the turbo is a t3/t4 60trim 63A/R.....so it shouldn't mess with the atts unless you up the boost and...well I think you mite blow the motor before you have a chance to over power the atts.....

ok ok I guess that was harsh. I suggest you boost a base model rather than the SH beceause if you go higher than 270 hp then the ATTS turns off and is just useless dead weight. Go for a base and slap in a LSD.

Actually, you are incorrect. The Type SH block is different than the Base block. You can't just slap on a Base tranny to a Type SH block.

explain this to me...because the last time i checked, they were both h22's. So, they're trannies should be interchangable. And actually, the F22 tranny should bolt onto an H22 motor as well. That would be decent for a turbo'd 'Lude...longer gear ratios. Anyways...isn't there a way to disconnect the ATTS ? Someone told me it's part of the ECU ? I was like WTF !?! I don't think so...

http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com is your friend.

Also, yes, the F22 will fit ALL H22 blocks...EXCEPT for the Type SH.

When I inquired about a jdm type-s(atts) tranny, I was quoted double the price of installing a base tranny, or s-spec, so it can be done but there is some modification involved that im unaware of..........

Actually they are the same bolt pattern, look at the post below you, there is a link to a guy's site that has an H23A tranny on his SH block, also it shows the difference between the SH tranny and an H23A tranny. The SH tranny casing is a little different then the base tranny, a little smaller. Much like the differences between the Base USDM tranny and the JDM lsd tranny, The JDM lsd tranny casing is a little larger to accomodate the LSD unit. That is also why you cannot put the JDM lsd in the USDM base tranny, it won't fit, the casing is too small.
