Ive got some uneven tire wear going on...need tranny fluid changed?
I took a look at my tires today and my driver's side is wearing faster than my right. I know I need an alignment but a buddy of mine also stated that if my LSD fluid is old then it might could the diff. to not lock in like its suppose to and cause one tire to slip more (ex. LSD isnt working 100%).
My question is...how much does the dealership charge to change tranny fluid. Ive never done it before. Where is the plug and filler hole so that I can change it myself (if its pointless to get Acura to do it)?

I doubt it's the fluid causing the driver's side to wear. I have the opposite problem of the right front wearing a bit faster than the LF.
If your problem is uneven wear across the face of the tire surface, get an alignment done.
Changing the fluid yourself is always a good idea, even if it may not be causing your present problem. Do a search... there have been some very good write ups on changing the tranny fluid in the past and from them you could determine yourself if you're up to the task.
Good luck

Do the tranny fluid change yourself. You can maybe find the location of the filler/release in your manual, but for sure in a Helms manual. A Helms manual is a good investment if you're going to do any work on your car yourself.
and get an alignment done too... I'd think if the LSD was causing you problems with tire wear, it would be doing a lot other funky things too, but that's just a guess, I really have no idea

jack up yr car.. and drain yr tranny fluid.. (3/8") wrench will get it out.. once drained, put the bolt back in and lower yr car... remove yr intake so you can reach the the 17mm bolt so you can put fluid in. (best if yr cafr is at normal ride height). then get a funnel with a long hose so it fits into the hole that u took the 17mm bolt out.. fill it until u c fluid start dripping out.. pull it out and reinstal the 17mm bolt. its a very easy process.
j00 got suspension upgrades?

transmission oil changes are good to do every 15k. it's pretty easy to do a tranny change, but i highly doubt that the fluid is causing uneven tire wear.

i rotated the front tires yesterday and now it pulls right instead of left slightly. I just need my wheels and tires balanced.
