Just got a 2000 V6 Coupe, lets the mods begin! :D
well after 2 weeks of looking I finally found a coupe for my girlfriend after she totalled her civic. We were also looking at 3.2 TL's but we couldnt find one with good paint/low miles....also i dont trust ****- i mean, sport shift transmissions
First thing on my-...our list is two new mufflers, the stock ones are rusted and old. I do not want a cat back system this is my girlfriends car primarily and we do not care about the mad 2 hp we will gain by spending 8 bills on a cat back.
So far I am pretty set on two magnaflow mufflers, I have heard the sound is great, deep and not too loud. Can anyone tell me exactly which mufflers these are? I know they are oval, but im not sure...

Any help is appreciated, also if anyone has any exp with those mufflers please share. I was also considering CL-S mufflers if i could find someone selling them, anyone used those?
After i get the mufflers put on, I will be dropping the car. So far I have heard good things about eibach, im looking for a conservative (but noticable) and comfortable drop, something like 1.5. Which one is closer, the prokit or sportline? any other reccomendations on springs? anyone selling any?
After that...probably put back the system in from the civic. The front doors are 6.5 and the rear deck is 6x9 correct? can someone post pics of an aftermarket stereo in a coupe? The stock player is a double-din, correct?
also, where can i buy some black housing headlights? I dont want any cheap crap, i want something that is very close to oem quality.
Besides some tint, that should hold me for now (
)
What other semi-conservative mods are you all doing? How does the OEM Kit look? is it still relativley easy to get or have they discontinued it already?
sorry for my noobish questions but i have to learn another honda now, thanks for any help =]

Good choice on not getting a catback system for the car. On our cars, we lose too much low end on our car. Now if it was any other car, I woul d recommend it though. Axle-back systems are more beneficial for our car. I have Comptech Axle-Backs. They are direct bolt ons. They are nice a deep at low RPMs (up til about 3000k) then they sound stock. They are slightly louder than stock. I love mine! The drawback is that they are quite expensive. The retail price is $669 @ Comptech's website but you could find them new for around $600 (which is the lowest I have seen them).
The pics that you posted was the Magnaflow Catback system for the 98-02 v6 accords. They retail for about $500 i think. I haven't heard them in person but I have heard good reviews about them.
-= Drop =-
When you lower the car, the most popular springs in my opinion are the Eibach Prokits. They lower the car about 1.5" I'm not sure about the ride quality but I'm assuming that it will be somewhat bouncy on stock shocks. I would replace the stocks with either Tokico Illuminas (if your on a budget) or Koni Yellows (if your willing to spend more). But probably the best system is the Tein SS Coilovers. I'm about to get those for my car pretty soon. They are about $1000.
-= Black Housings =-
Aftermarket black housings have bad light output and sometimes they have a tendency to get condensation inside. I wouldn't recommend getting them. It would be best if you opened them up yourself and did your own black housings. Most people I know do that instead.
-= Stereo =-
You are correct. The fronts are 6.5" and the rears are 6x9s. However, there are a couple problems. First off, the mounting depth for the fronts is very shallow (1 15/16" i think). Most likely, you will have to build a spacer for the speaker to fit. As for the rear, most people have a problem with their aftermarket 6x9s rubbing against the trunk bars. In order to fix this problem, people usually build a small spacer to elevate the speaker or use foam tubing found at Home Depot or any other home store to cover the bars so they won't scratch the magnets. The stock stereo is double din. In order to fit a single din unit inside, just go to any audio shop and buy an adapter kit for it.
-= OEM kit =-
The OEM kit is a nice kit to get for the 98-00 Accord Coupes. It is very subtle and clean but also adds a hint of styling. I'm unsure about the availability of them since I own a sedan. Sorry.
*phew* that was pretty long...haha. I hope I helped you out somewhat.
By the way, I noticed you are form Sac (I'm hoping Sack = Sacramento). I live in Sac as well. Also, are you a member of V6performance.net? I'm a member there as well. I have the same name on there.

If you are from sac, did you know that there's going to be a meet tomorrow (9/28/2003)?
The meet is at Discovery Park. It's put on by ClubCivic.com but many people from V6p.net are going as well. This may be a good chance for you to check out other Accords.
Here's the link.

Not all of the accords come with a double din and if yours is a lx then yours should come with a pocket to take up the extra space. the comptech axle back does not open up the system enough to get any noticable gains across the pull rev range and i would suggest getting a full cat back if you want performance, but if you are not wanting performance then just get an axle back. But $669 is an insane price for two mufflers. I had a set of aftermarket black housings and they had great light pattern and they did not have any condesation so i guess it may be just luck of the draw. H&R make really good springs and with those and some yellows you will have a great ride and really good handling. Those are just my opinions. If you have any other questions just pm me.
