What if I don't have an LSD??? Slicks are not getting hot!
I have MT ET drag slicks. I know they do not require a big burn out to heat them up but I can't get both wheels to spin ever. So how can I get them hot?????
I use a tire treatment called "Drag Racing Tire Treatment" by Pro Blend and I run about 12 to 15 psi. It is an LS tranny. The slicks are unpredictable one time I may run a 60 ft. of 2.00 and the next may be 2.17 or so. Any tips????
By the way I pull in the water, hold the E brake and spin the tire over one time......edge forward out the water about a foot or so and slip the clutch at about 4k rpm's.

Try reving it a bit higher, say 5500 rpm, dump the clutch, don't slip it, and once the burn-out starts, try turning the steering wheel back and forth. It helps getting both tires to start turning.

what he said.....and this isnt helping the heat up but....15psi in slicks is kinda high

Try this and Thank Camp1320.com later.
if it works?
.Im trying to learn all the lil nick nacks about racing. Now Camp said back in the days no not alot of people can afford LSD even till this day. When running slicks and you want both tires to spin this is what he did. Tire pressure what ever you want most likely 6psi-8psi. go past the water box and them reverse back to the proper distance. rev it up to 5000RPM and drop the clutch. For some reason when you reverse i guess the spider gears lock up or some thing like that but anyways try that and let us know how things work out.

going in reverse, then dumping the clutch forward is also a good way to shear a diff pin and explode the spider gears.

I think 99b18c1 meant to say reverse back to certain spot of the water box then stop then put it into first gear and do the buring out, it does spin both wheels , not reverse and while its rolling back put in first and launch.
kaboooom.!!

go into the water pit. do a quick spin to get the tires wet. pull out of the pit. pull the e-brake or line-lock. do burnout redlining the motor as usual but instead turn the steering to the left and right but make sure you have control of the car and don't run into the wall or the tech offical. Also be sure to do the burn out past the staging lights lines. reverse your car past the line and back so you can do a quick clean off burnout to clean off the slicks to get the small chunks off the slicks. GET READY, SET, GO...

roll into the water, spin them a lil so u get both wet. get out of the water, and dump it at a fairly high rpm. I dump it at about 6-7 and they both always spin, and heat up quickly.
Just hope the axles like it........I have never broken one but some friends have dumping it at to much of an RPM!

I'd be more scared of breaking the diff.

that would be halarious seeing a little 13-12 second or slower car do a burn out past the line. Heck I would die laughing....
