Default Supercharged LS/VTEC in 94' DX Hatch....

My buddies 94' Hatch with full interior, 18" inch wheels in the rear, 14" steelies in the front with AZenis ran a best of 13.8 last night. I just thought that car should be faster. The complete mods list is Hondata (tuned), DC 4-1, Basic tube style intake, ADJ. fuel reg., Stock LS Bottom end, B16 Head stock with stock B16 tranny with no LSD. He hit a good light .528, and a 60 ft of 1.9. What do you guys think? The Jackson Racing 10 PSI kit also.

Thanks

Sounds like there are some traction issues there. Slicks would be wise

That is what I was thinking, I haven't heard of under a 2.0 on street tires too much (don't even remember a seeing a 1.9, but drawing a blank right now).

**** my oo' R will get 1.8 60ft times that is nothing special. You just have to launch right.

1.9 60 foot is poor on that sort of tire. I have done 2.0 60 foots on crappy no name tires and so have many others. Dude is right. I would check your launch technique and practice on releasing the clutch. If you are just dropping it at the launch at high rpm you won't go anywhere. With a charger on there it will be easy to get wheelspin down low so work on applying the power.

I'm assuming you accomplished this 2.0 on your 240sx? If that's the case, it's pretty common for a rwd car to pull that kind of 60' on street tires. Hell, my buddy was doing 1.9-2.0 in his 1985 Supra consistently on shitty all reason radials. On the other hand, if you were refering to a fwd, then props to you cuz that's some elite driving ablities.

Actually 2.0 on a RWD car is even worse than the 1.9 on the FWD car. The 2.0 was done in my 1984 GTI 2L 16V actually.

1.9 on azenis is good...sounds to me more like something is wrong in this set up, not in the traction department

about 3-4 years ago, i had a stock gsr in a hatch. jrsc w/ 8 lb pulley. afc, fuel pump, header, exhaust. ran the stock 99 si michelins and went 13.10. i was not driving it great, now i would think i would see 12.90's. it made btween 220 - 225 to the wheels. your friends set up should be in the 12's with the azenas.

Ya that was your event Clayton. I took 1st in that event. The car ran like crap actually and I was going to pull out during TT but my crew chief yelled at me and I went racing. Glad I stayed.

2.4 is poor, 1.9 is very good on that tire in his car. Just because you got 2.0 60ft's on cheap all season tires doesn't mean anyone who doesn't do better can't drive. For a drag radial a 1.9-2.0 60ft is good, a more street type tire like the Falken with stiff sidewall would be good getting those same times.

i agree in a honda if u cut a 2.1 or less IMO you are doing pretty good. As for a 1.9 on a Azenis, thats awesome.
