Going to the track this week?? What to expect?? b18b, turbo, slicks......
Hi guys! im going to the track for the first time this weds night. I just bought a set of brand new 22x8 slicks and i kinda wanna know your opinions on where to launch etc.
setup
95 dx coupe
b18b w/ t3/t4 - i should be at like 11lbs or so
GSR tranny
stock suspension
UBERDATA - rev limit is set to around 7200 rpm - launch rev limit is 4k
so i imagine i should do a burn out in the water, get up to the line, rev to 4k and pop the clutch.
should i set the launch higher??? or do you guys think i should be good.
also what psi should be in the slicks?? and should i pull up the e-brake when doing a burnout???
Thanks and wish me luck

Burke; I wish you alllllll the luck in the world.
Burn out.
#1- Take your time and have some fun, start out @ 13-psi.
#2- When you roll up to the water box, get the slicks wet and then roll out a foot do not stay in the water box to start your burn.
#3- Pull up the E-Brake and start your burn out, when you fill the engine start to lug release the E-Brake and pull up to the line.
This is just my info, so all you racers out their please give (Burke) some good advice we want him to do good.
Goooooood Luck my man, and
to you. John@M&H-Hashim's

Thanks for the advise!!!

Do everything that Slicks said except I would recomend doing your burnout in 2nd gear, also raise your launch rpm, 4k on those slicks will probably bog pretty bad, I launch around 7,000 rpms so that they spin a little in first to avoid any initial shock that would snap axles, I have the same slicks and they hook very well, I pull consistent 1.7 60fts using my method in a street hatch.

Hi (Burke) I would start @ 13-psi now this is a test now, here is what I want you to do. Roll up to the water box and then roll out just enough to get the Slicks wet then roll out a foot, start your burn out and when you fell the engine start to lug down, release the E-brake and go up to the line a have fun. Now from their you can kinda gauge were you need to be @ for the next burn out. Go down one pound at a time, if you feel you need to drop the air down. GOOD LUCK and
to you. John@M&H-Hashim's

listen to slicksmh... I got a pair of MH's (awesome slicks). Run the slicks with 13 psi nothing less. I used to race with 10psi and never got under a 2.0 60ft. I figured maybe if i add more air it would help and it did(Consistent 1.7 60fts). So 13psi is perfect imo. Good Luck

You must have a backwards car. If your getting shitty 60 foots you should try lowering the tire pressure, not putting more in them. I would start out at lke 13psi and work my way down to like 7psi. Launch off the rev limiter and just hope that no parts break.
