Default My baseline dyno... 162.7HP/119.7Tq

Just wanted to share my baseline dyno result... 162.7HP and 119.7 Tq. Also, I ran the car with A/C, headlights, highbeam, hazards, radio on. That one gave me 150.8HP and 101.5Tq. Whoa, loss of ~12HP and ~18tq ! Lastly, Emmett with his RSX-S ran 167.x HP. I have 25xx miles, his RSX-S has just under 2000 miles, I think. Overall, we had a great time at the dyno. (It was actually S2000 dyno day... they averaged 195 (186HP -- 202HP)... every one of S2000 w/ Injen intake lost power. )

[Edit] RSX-S definitely has some fat torque curve down low. I think typeS had good 10-15lb-ft torque more throughout the rpm range. [/Edit]

Type-S dyno plot:

edit:
For those of you who don't have microscopes for eyes, it's 167 hp and 126.4 ft lb.

hehehe, it's so funny too how many s2k owners believe they will make power from headers, exhuast, intake or fpr on a stock ecu. They all end up losing power unless fuel and timing can be tuned.

Len - funny you mention this... 'cuz after Emmett and I dynoed our FWD cars, an S2000 owner actually decided to pull in head-first and dyno his front wheel hp. He caught on pretty quick and turned it around real quick.

You know, people make honest mistakes. Maybe he had never had his car on a dyno before or he just wasn't thinking. Either way, I'm sure he was pretty embarassed...

What's an honest mistake? I thought mistakes were just mistakes...

But yeah...I've done pretty foolish things myself.

yeah, I have no idea what "honest mistake" means after thinking about it...

btw, I hope I didn't sound like I was bashing you for your comment, I wasn't. I was just thinking how embarassed I would be if I had done that...

Yup, I made honest mistakes this weekend. A small ding on my trunk and lightly scratched up my spoiler. My first ding and self-inflicted scratches on my cars in 5 years. I'm an idiot.

I can top honest mistakes...drove away from the gas pump with the nozzle still in the car, heard a loud smack and thought I got the place on fire. hehe, thankfully this was my first car, a beater.

Honest Mistake: I rushed out of a good movie to go the bathroom. I was in such a hurry I wasn't paying attention and ran right into the women's bathroom... didn't take me long to notice that something was not right.

(It was actually S2000 dyno day... they averaged 195 (186HP -- 202HP)... every one of S2000 w/ Injen intake lost power. )
interesting. was that their only mod?

p.s. some I/H/E combos can work on the s2k. for example, the mugen full exhaust (header & catback) with mugen ECU supposedly produces an extra ~15-20 hp...for a mere $4300.

exactly, you need to modify ecu or fuel/timing somehow to make power out of the s2k.
