Still without electricity since Hurricane Isabel
One week later, there is still no electricity in the Edwards household, due to Isabel.
Thanks to the antique Winnebago, we have a generator powering most of the real essentials.
We lost a big tree in the backyard, as well as quite a few branches.
Other than a few shingles, we had no major damage.
Cold showers are no fun…
How have others fared?

Man, that's awful. Down here I had some downed branches and stuff but the power only flickered on me like five times. Came back in several seconds.
My parents just got theirs back today in Williamsburg. I've never had to live that long w/o electrical power. Heck, I'd have trouble living that long without SPEED Channel.
Happily we got our power back Friday afternoon. Not complaining, since we had it much better than many folks did/do. 5-10% of those who lost power still don't have power back.
Local schools were closed for 6 or 7 days. My Pit Crew will miss the next ECHC race due to a make-up day at school...
The College of William and Mary reopened for classes today.

Glad you came out alright from Isabel without having to use your swim fins. My in-laws in Hilton Head were ready to come stay with us for an impromptu visit but Isabel turned well North of them.
Isabel caused some rains at Mid-Ohio making the first to Runoffs races in the wet but that was all. Living this far inland in the Midwest we don't have to worry much about hurricanes... ours are dry, smaller, more focussed and called tornados.

My parents in Williamsburg are still out of power too. 2 freezers full of food lost.
4 trees down (at the roots) right in the back yard. More in the woods behind the house. crazy stuff.
Driving down the road in their neighborhood was like driving through a warzone
