Default ***UPDATE on recked Type R***

Yeah... I'm OK... No more type R though.... *Big sob*....
I was just driving... in the slow lane in fact!!
I hit a puddle of water and started to drift into the fast lane (left). Nothing surprising yet... been there done that... I'm thinking this has happen to me a THOUSAND times and my front wheel drive car will pull me out of it... BUT ( notice the big butt) there just happen to be a suv right next to me (talk about rolling the dice for both to happen at the same time.). I corrected, the car continues left... I'm going to hit the suv! I'm not going to avoid it!! So what I did was correct even more! "Thank God!" Did not hit the suv! Started to fish tail!
Well I drifted off the highway to the right... and again the dice came up snake eye's... at the time we( my type R and I) were headed under a bridge. Well I'm saying to myself in a real calm voice.... "ok so far... if I can just clear the concrete pillars of the bridge, I'll be ok.", Stuck in the mud maybe, but ok just the same.
Well I'm trying to relax for impact and I see the pillars coming up, now to my left. (remember, I'm traveling in reverse at this time) Out of the corner of my eye, I see one, two, go by then thr........ Hit number four almost dead square. Well I did not hit the pillar dead square. I was off by a couple of degrees and about 12 inches. (in fact if I had hit square they would have been picking pieces of me off the front wind shield and trying to figure what was me and what was the dash board!!) I black out for about 15min. I wake up to a bad dream of me trying to release my seat belt... but for some reason, I can't reach the dam release!!
The driver side window is being busted by fire department. They talk to me for a min. to see if I'm coherent and alive. I look to my right and notice a funny thing. The passenger seat is “off” AND the rear passenger side wheel is sitting on the seat. I’m thinking to myself… that’s funny, I don’t remember putting a spare Type R wheel there?
So they try to pry the door open with one of those hug crow bars, but they can’t get it open. They bring this big machine that pry the doors open and I’m being rapped with a neck collar and pulled onto a board. Off to the Local ER.. They even gave me a choice of local hospitals, showing me brochures and cafeteria menus. All the while asking which one would I like best. I just rolled my eyes and told them the closes one would do.
Well, 5 to 7 X-rays, one cat-scan and 22 staples in my head later…. The doctor is confirming for the 5th time that I have NO broken bones, just a medium concussion and a VERY bruised right side of my body. He makes sure that I know who I am, what year it is and releases me to the loving care of my wife. Almost 3 hours have gone by since the accident. We make a brief stop at the dentist to check out my teeth. ( lost some shards off of four teeth… nothing major…maybe two crows) We are home and I’m trying to reflect and thank God for having witness two of His miracles in my life time.
For you see guys if It had been a front end crash… no amount of air bags would have saved me. If I had hit the pillar closer to left side of the car on impact. I would have been jelly up against the dashboard and windshield!! God is a major mover and shaker in my life and I am a witness to Him and His miracles.

Sincerely,
Fuminsho

Wow, thank god you are okay. That is why I am definetly not getting anzensis anymore. I have had to many close calls with those tires in the rain. To much hydoplanning and pulling with them. Only if I live somewhere where they took care of the roads and the roads weren't all worn down with very uneven surfaces.

But, are you keeping your engine?

What are you plans now as far as a ride goes?

glad you're alive after that crash.

looks as though those azenis didn't help you out much in the rain. at least they look like azenis in the shot of the rear tire in the front seat.

Holy Cow. I'm glad you are alive. That looks.... horrible.

Take it easy, with all those bruises and a concussion, you are bound to feel not so good for a while....

Yeah I've driven them in the rain before and I'm very careful in the wet weather... I would have gone over to the left lane a little, but I would have maintained control of the car. It was just bad luck that some one just happen to be beside me at the time.
I'm the kind of person, that when I'm driving I don't let any one cruise next to me for any amount of time. I either slow down or pick up speed to clear both sides. (kinda leaves you with on out if you need one!! ) I'm the person you see in heavy traffic with no one to speak of around me. I'm that in the gap between the slow traffic. Makes me an easy target for speed traps as well.

So if you can imagine that that luck would put me there at that moment with some one right next to me..... Life is a strange and wonderful thing....

Well I spoiled myself for a while with the Type R... So we picked up a Acura TL Type S for the wife to drive daily and I'm moving over to the Del sol... mmmmmm

lots of potential there... heheheheh

And I plan to save up for the next couple of years for another type R (I really miss that car!! People will tell you.. I wouldn't have sold it for anything..) Or used NSX treat or new EVO... hopefully by that time they will have equiped the US evo with the to computer controled handling features....

Glad that you're ok.
I hope you didn't get a ticket, the 4th car that hit you should (based on what you wrote above).

Glad to see you are ok.
