I recently bought a 91 lx tranny off a guy on ebay to replace my 4 spd, and after it is in... of course... we find out that it has a bad bearing.. it makes an awful noise unless the clutch is in...works fine...just awful noise

I know I need a new tranny...but is there anything that will help me keep this one alive until I can afford to put a new one in? Would the syncromesh I hear so much about help at all? Oh yeah...anyone want to unload a cheap d series cable tranny? Thanks!

 

If your into changing synchros I've got an Si tranny with grinding 3rd and 4th synchros, swap in yours and it should be good to go. I havent used it though, picked it up from a junker so I assume it was working when wrecked, its been sitting around awaiting a teardown. $50 + ship

 

I have a 90si tranny in perfect shape for $150 in orlando if you can pick it up. Sorry I don't have an answer for your problems though.

 

bad input bearing, $25 in parts, I charge $80 including parts to replace.
