Vin Plate and Block Numbers (HELP!)

Can someone please tell me where every code is located.
Refers to specifically GSR.
This is what i know.

(94+ GSR) Block number = Under engine code

(96+ GSR not 94~95) Vin plate = Tranny?block?

Thinking of buying pieces to build my motor but i wanna make sure it legit.

Let me say this over again. Before i buy something, i would like to verify if it legit or not. if its hott then i dont buy. get it....
