Opinions on McIntosh amps?
Has anyone used or seen one in action? I'm considering selling my PPI A600 and get a McIntosh in the very distant future. The only thing I know about them is that they cost a lot and they're big as ****. My A600 is tiny compared to MC341.
They are good quality wise. High dollar. I had some early models when they first came out mine was the tube amps they had. Not all familiar with the newwer stuff though. Imo the ppi gear is just as good. Wouldnt notice anything different.
i have heard that Clarion owns them now. who knows how they are. i dont think anyone on this board has ever owned one. maybe nsxxtreme, since he can afford my dream car. dont worry, i will have a zanardi edition in my possession sometime in the future so
I was thinking about the older MC431 (4x100). I saw one for a pretty good deal, so I was thinking about it. I don't really have a sub setup anymore, except for a 8" sub.
Would the sound quality be different? I figured with the McIntosh, the mids and highs would sound a little bit better, but maybe not noticeable enough. I hooked up a PPI A404 to replace an old ADS PH15 I had, and the only difference was that the PPI was much louder. SQ was the same.
