I just got some new/used rotors and the hub area that bolts to the car is a little rusty how would you guys clean this off? I was thinking brake parts cleaner and heavy grit sand paper?????

i would say the best thing to do would be get a dremal, a nylon or soft metal brush attachment, and a steel brush attachment. First get the bulk of the rust away with the steel brush, and then use the nylon or soft metal brush for the small spots.
Most brake rotors rust there. Whats the big deal? Just get them re-surfaced if the rotor surface is damaged and slap them on. Or paint them, if they rust there then they always will.
i have this same problem with my current rotors. thing that sucks is when it rains...i get rust water all over my flat back wheels and its a biatch to get it off. i was thinking dremel followed by high temp paint...anybody think that would work?

go ahead... use sandpaper.. go all out and 3 stage wet sand them if you want.
green scrubbie=lot easier, less abrasive to the surface, and oh yeah... easier.

I see, well if that doesn't work I recommed sandpaper, especially on squeaky rear drums....
