Horrible, they dogged me at the Woodburn race, made fun of my car and my lack of sponsorship. Te only good thign they had to say was that I had a better reaction time than Marty Ladwid.
Grif Allen, Kenny Sargent, and Crash Gladis, one smack for each of them from me.
I dont think they could have made me look worse.

YUP i got to agree withyou on that one too... low budget guys get no love on that show.... its all about NOPI tuner vision.. that where all the racers get a fair amount of coverage... ESPN2 NHRA coverage

i just cant stand the entire show. they make it like the WWF or something. i want to see some great competition not listen to you say "wow you got this thing finally running right, how are you going to compete with _____" to every single person. Id much rather see them discuss the changes they made, the setups etc.. etc.. etc... and have some better coverage of the races themselves.
Trending Topics
That is soo true...They try to make the entire show into a ****-talkin contest...All they seem to interview are the domestic sponsored drivers wtf is that about??...You sure dont see this type of "interviewing" with the other types of racing....IHRA, NMRA, etc..They are really making import racers look like ******** by making it look like one big streetrace....If ESPN really wants to to help Import racing grow, they need to start showing more racing and less coerced ****-talkin...
i agree not very good coverage they only talked to scott kelly in allmotor what about leslie? we even get talked to when and if we make semi.i think they need to work on it .cloyse jr
There's an interview in Modified (09/03) with Ken Scheepers, where the author asked Scheepers what the TV coverage was like, and he said right out, that they asked him to **** talk, how ais that supposed to work. Especially when you have someone who is a really likeable person (Papadakis) and they want them to **** talk?

it's a damn shame. all i want is to see the cars go and maybe a little tech about them. it's 30 minutes long and you get to see like 4 passes the whole show. it sucks but for now that's all there is.
one smack for the dumbass guy and 2 smacks for the dumb *** woman.
can't stand her.

At the Las Vegas NHRA event that was rained out, Kenny and Gladass told us that the WWF, smack talking was the tool they were going to use to bring import racing to the front. If you were shy or boring, forget getting any coverage. They wanted controversy and an X games feel.
I think it looks fake and contrived and personally hate it.
I enjoy the NOPI style of coverage.

That's sad if they think that is what it takes to get people to watch. I saw the show once, putting the racers face to face in front of a black sheet is gay. It is like wwf, they make it look like the racers hate one another. I say just straight cut racing, give results and maybe talk a little bit about the racer and car. No bs.

I don't like wwf wrestling but I get hooked on 15 minutes of the play acting outside of the ring because it is so goofy, yet entertaining for a few minutes.

Yeah I guess they are trying to get others to watch it. But it seems there might be a better way to handle it. Maybe every half a minute a naked woman flashes up for a couple seconds, then there would be some good ratings.
Oh wait this isn't skinemax.

Geez, what's next? Neon colored, spandex firesuits and "behind the scenes" coverage of some trash talking in the pits?
Maybe if I modeled my car after a WWE wrestler and paint scheme...maybe I'll get some coverage? Hmmmm, who should I pick? Goldberg/Big Show/Triple H? LOL! You think Vince McMann will sponsor a WWE Import drag car? HAHAHA!

They just try to be edgy. If you've ever heard their radio show, SpeedFreaks, you'd know. This is sort of an edgy demographic we're dealing with folks. I doubt too many conservative pundits attend sport compact events. I doubt you'll see Ann Coulter in the biking contest anytime soon. We need more personalities like Rado and Paisley who can go back-and-forth with Crash and Kenny. The NHRA coverage this year is so much better than the first two seasons. The shows are much better to watch. The must have upgraded the producers. Now, if they can extend them to an hour and get a consistent time slot, we'd be in there.

I can understand that they want the entainment for the 30 mins they are on the air..but you just cant put a script to drag racing...out of the races I have seen on TV so far(import events)....the racers dont want to talk the **** about each other and when they dont the announcers get on their case and say lines like, "Is that all you got?"..when you pull up to the starting line...that is when the driver's "game face" is on. They shouldnt be forcing drivers to talk smack about one another. Look at the big block side of NHRA...they just do basic interviews with the drivers and tape the occasional mouth battles(just last week it was John Force and Lee Beard)..IMO I would rather watch the Top Fuel shows because they are focused on the racing and related topics around their racing..not incouraging mouth battles

I'm watching woodburn NHRA on Espn 2 right now, boy they struggle.
I really wish they wouldnt come and talk to you right before the pass, its not like its going to help you concentration. I mean I looked like Crap, un-shaven, 3 hrs sleep for the weekend, hot as hell in the fire suit and they want to talk about how bad I'm going to get killed by mister mega bucks from GM
