oops, i guess i would like to know the trim level, year, and weight of the lightest crx. i'm trying to find a car to build up and start time trialing with by next year, and figure the crx would be best for this.

i've got one but it's MINE! hehheh. Gutted completely you could probably get an 88 HF down to the sub 1700 lbs mark. They only wiegh 1816 stock

 

Here are the facts I got from quickhonda.net

1988 SI:2,017 -----DX:1,922-------HF:1,819

The 85-87 crx's are the lightest from the factory at 1,713 lbs so get one of those. I have an 86 SI and that only wieghs in at 1,953. Stripped an 86 HF could probably get down to 1600lbs stripped without driver.

 

Full race 91 Si...stock motor, lexan glass (only glass is the windshield) full cage...

if you really want to make a crx move, get an 86 hf, remove the engine, put in an si motor, add a racing cam, remove the glass and use that plexiglass nonbreakable (and supposedly nonscratchable) stuff in place of it, except the windshield, drop it down and give it nice low profile tires. you can get it totally stripped down with just the drivers seat, engine, and frame down to under 1500 lbs - that one i know - mine weighs exactly 1565 lbs for the racing that i do - and that is with all the glass still in it and a full tank of gas. you could also shave off more weight by gutting out the doors and the hood, if you really want the car to be light!
