standup question
i'm getting pretty good at my 2nd gear wheelies and i'm going to start trying standups, any pointers? or even a small walk though on what you feel is the best technique, IE-gasing-clutching, RPM's etc. this is with a 03 R6
TIA

Don't forget to factor what bike you are on into the equation... if ur pushing a literbike u can do the on-off-on and pull method to pull the bike up. If its a 600 you will must likely have to dump the clutch and "catch" (as they say) the bike when it comes up

Pretty dumb comment... Anyways, is it safe to say you know the "obvious". Go off road, full gear, etc. I'm against all power wheelies, its the 1st way to learn, but the most dangerous. Too much power that way, learn to clutch, trust me. Start about 40-45mph, stand up, pull in the clutch a little, and see what happens.
Do this till you get it, it wont happen overnight. Always cover the rear brake

I don't think it's dumb at all. You gotta pay to play, expect to crash if you stunt and/or when you want to be fast

Is this any less DUMB???
I think anyone who spends 10k on a motorcycle just to do a wheelie is DUMB
But hey, that's MY opinion.... at least I'm being realistic in my comments.

It is his money to spend/waste. I would rather see this guy get the right advice and it some what safely, other then go out and try it without advice.
-Kenny, that hates to see a good R6 go to a wheelie king.

All wheelies and any other stunt you wanna learn is on that site. Or you can go here and learn everything ya need... http://www.stunterschool.com/
And saying that learning wheelies or other stunts will kill you is pretty damn stupid. Hell, getting on your bike and pulling out of your drive way can get you killed as well. Throwing a leg over a bike is taking a chance every time you get on it. People need to stop looking down on stunting just cause some dumb **** is out on the highway pulling 300+mph wheelies.
Dont let one bad apple spoil the bunch. Not everyone is into being stupid"stupid hurts". And can you honestly say that you never had you bike up in triple digits or over the postd speed limit? That alone right there wont get you killed or in trouble?
People just need to open up their eyes and realize that this is a sport and its not going to go away, its only going to get bigger. Hell, they even have some shows at motorcycle races. So whats that telling you??? Give it time, and it will be on the X-games next, then soon on weekends you'll be rushing hom or setting that VCR to catch the stunt comps on Speedvision.

thats a great site. dont get me wrong though i bought the bike to ride it for its true potential and i mostly enjoy leaning it hard into turns but like any toy i like to play around, i'm yet to meet someone with a bike that doesnt try little stunts of some sort. yes it does increase the risk but telling me to get life insurance is not the advice i was looking for.
