Yes, you can do that. It will run, but your top end of the rpm range will SUCK. Atleast get a V-AFC or an RPM activated switch to activate vtec. It will run fine after that.
why would i do that? becuase im 16 and i have liek no money and ive been saving for this for a logn time. but i think im going to get a shift **** with switch built in. u know those ones? and im gonna run the switch to activate the vtec. then when i save up enough for a vtec controller or a redone ecu then i can do that. does anyone know how much it is to get your ecu redone the obne wire vtec deal? ok thanks and also does anyone have a w2irng diagram for me to hook up my siwtch? i know nohtong about electrical. this swap should be done by next week so i would like to know how to get it complete ok thanks
hey it's another michigangander! wow i thought their was only a few "true" honda enthusasts in the big hand. anyway, to my knolage just use your stock timing belt and a Y8 head gasket and your good to go. As for VTEC talk to me and maybe i can work somthing out with you not liking wiring. oh and for the record, im 15 and i know how you feel with the wiring, well i use to not like it, then i made some profit so wiring isnt a problem any more
