Default mini me obd blah blah

hey can i just put on a y8 head on my car with new itmign belt for a y8 and gasket for a y8, take out oil jet and be ready to drive it? do i need a 92-95 fpr? i know it wont have vtec. im going to use the 88 crx si computer and distributor. will i have to change any wiring? whats obd? i dont know liek ANY electrical stuff i only know the mechanically stuff. can any one help me? thankz

well.....the first question is... WHY would you do this?

...but I guess the answer is, yes... it'll work... probably wont run great and I wouldnt do it..but..

Yes, you can do that. It will run, but your top end of the rpm range will SUCK. Atleast get a V-AFC or an RPM activated switch to activate vtec. It will run fine after that.

why would i do that? becuase im 16 and i have liek no money and ive been saving for this for a logn time. but i think im going to get a shift **** with switch built in. u know those ones? and im gonna run the switch to activate the vtec. then when i save up enough for a vtec controller or a redone ecu then i can do that. does anyone know how much it is to get your ecu redone the obne wire vtec deal? ok thanks and also does anyone have a w2irng diagram for me to hook up my siwtch? i know nohtong about electrical. this swap should be done by next week so i would like to know how to get it complete ok thanks

i think its like $310 and thats with shipping back to you. i could be wrong though but i think that its worth it and will be setting up one soon.

hey it's another michigangander! wow i thought their was only a few "true" honda enthusasts in the big hand. anyway, to my knolage just use your stock timing belt and a Y8 head gasket and your good to go. As for VTEC talk to me and maybe i can work somthing out with you not liking wiring. oh and for the record, im 15 and i know how you feel with the wiring, well i use to not like it, then i made some profit so wiring isnt a problem any more

wow someone from MI has a honda older than 5 years that isnt aten up by rust lol. u need a head? i can get u an si or dx one for a price..
