OK, im going to ask you guys about purchasing this 'R'.
ok, i found a 97 CW ITR, no motor, trans, or seats, everything is MINT, 33k miles, previous NY salvage title. all i would need at all is the motor, tranny and pair of seats. now, you give me your thoughts....he told me 6300 shipped to my house (thats from NY, to MN) IMO, it would for surely be worth it when all is said and done, and i would have no intention of selling that car, so the title doesnt bother me really. i have a 94 Turbocharged Integra RS right now, i owe 2300 on it still, its in pretty nice shape for a 94, 130k miles, pulls strong as fawk. any clue how to go about getting rid of my integra?? would i be better off parting out the turbo parts, and selling them separate from the car??or sell it all together?
i just cannot make up my mind as to if i should go through with this or not, i have wanted an R since i was like 15, but now i have a 16 month old daughter, a nice house, girlfriend, and here i am, face to face with possibly the deal of a lifetime for my dream car! please give me some honest opinions, this is all i have been thinking about for like 3 days, some of you may know who's car this is, but we will keep names to ourselves this time! thanks in advance R-guys

well, thats why im asking you guy's opinions, i mean, of all people in this forum, obviously you guys are going to be the most knowledegable as far as the value and quality of an ITR. if i did get it, it might end up getting a nicely built cr/vtec if i cant find a good deal on an R motor. but like i say, im just feeling this out for now, if its not worth it, its not worth it, nothing i can do..... but at the moment i cant get it out of my head. i needed to explain my dilema and get some other inputs..
call Len at Baranco Acura and price your shizit first so you know what you are getting yourself into

think about for a clean swap is gonna run you about 4500-5000 gs plus installation so thats almost 12000 i am estimating then add seats and tranny the car would be around 14000 give or take see if you want the time and money to invest that much in a project right now .. Its hard raising a kid and doing a project .. If i were you i would think it over .. And if your willing to do it go ahead seems like a fun project to take on if your ready for it.

why the hell would a ring on her finger give her any voting power??
well, i suppose, she could either vote to clean the bathroom, do laundry, or cook me food.....

well, i have already found a couple good deals on some motors direct from j-land from a friend of mine that lives over there part of the year, i would do all installation myself, seats i have already came across pretty cheap(jdm recaros that is) so i mean, its not a huge crazy project really...
about 6 months ago, i was about to buy a wrecked ITR, but come to find out, the unibody was all cracked underneath, just wasnt worth it, now this.. no body damage.. i like that..
its actually not that bad with a kid though, she loves hanging around me out in the garage, and shes only 16 months!!!
one more thing, what the hell should i do with MY integra?? lol

or just keep your rs, that itr is missing the fun part - drivetrain.. so if you're not sick of boosting just spend that money towards repairs and other stuff.

naa, i wanna do soemthing different.. preferrable a stock, or built R motor, but we'll see i guess, i thought about doing that, but around my area, i could prolly get like 9 grand for my car how it is, lol, ill just say theres a lot of rice in town, and they flip over a turbocharged integra!

see, thats another reason, my car has 130k miles on it, stuff will start to break sooner or later, and boosting the **** out of it, isnt helping. and it kinda sucks driving a car out of town and not knowing if it will run long enough to make it back, haha..
i dunno, all in all it is a very hard decision i guess
i mean, i love my car, for sure, no doubt about it, but, with an ITR it can only be better, right? id be starting off a much better platform, i would respect my car sooo much more than i do now, id have 5 lugs on each rim, instead of 4!

like i said, this car is not worth 6300 IMO.. That guy seems pretty hell bent on getting a lot for it though..
Keep in mind, this is a theft recovery car carrying a salvage title.. for the money you'd put into it to get it back to a clean title and street driveable(at his price on the chassis) you might as well buy a whole one..
I have different intentions, so this car became even less valuable to me..
Remember, even if you are looking for a salvage title car, there are plenty of others out there.. unfortuantely, Rs get jacked and wrecked all the time, so there are always chassis coming up..
And as far as your teg, put it up for sale if you don't want it..
Good luck!!

exactly, usually when u find them, they are smashed, or totally stripped, and prolyl have 80k miles on em too... can you lead me in a better direction as to where to find another?? i really want a project car, so i guess buying one whole is out of the question....

your best bet is to talk to people who attend auto auctions and/or deal in salvaged vehicles.. make some contacts, put the word out.. one will turn up sooner or later..
seriously though, if you're looking to buy one to put a motor back in and have the title cleaned and make it street legal again, that's going to be tough and expensive.. you really are better off buying a whole one at that point..
if you're trying to build a track car, than that's less of a big deal and condition can be FAR worse(and therefore FAR cheaper)..

$5000 for the motor and $7000 for installaton(wtf) then add tranny, 5000 gets u motor w/ tranny, front and rear seats usdm 800-900. So wtf r u talking about.

His price is steep. Dont waste your time and money. Find another salvaged title. Out of curiosity, what does it take to make a salvaged car street legal? Does it have to be inspected or tested?
