Default Header bolt hatred....

Top left header bolt refuses to move. I know that they were properly torqued because I watched when it was done. Nothing special done to this bolt, and yet, everything I do results in the head of the bolt deforming. Any suggestions??

Use a torque bar for added leverage.

i'm not sure if it's leverage more than the bolt just won't move. instead the head of the bolt is giving and stripping.

Hatred....

Use a breaker bar or take it to someone else to remove before you strip it any worse.

get a good penetrating oil on there (like AeroCroil if you can find it - or liquid wrench if you can't). Let that sit over night. Try a big breaker bar, and if the bolt strips - hammer on a slightly smaller socket. Good luck.

If you are stripping the bolt.....you might not have a perfect fitting socket. I remember I had some cheap tools that didn't fit exactly. The extra space put all of the torque on the corners of the bolt instead of on the flat part resulting in a stripped bolt.

Get better tools.

Use a 6pt socket, not 12.

You could try to heat it up a little, that seems to be the last ditch effort that usually works for me

did you try putting the other bolts back in and then breaking the stubborn nut loose? it could be that if you removed all the other bolts/studs, the header might be putting pressure on that one nut, making it hard to remove.

This was actually the first bolt. LOL

I then loosened all the others without problem and tried again. I have since tightened them all up again. Still no luck.

I think my only resort is to take it to a shop and have them laugh at me, and the proceed to charge me for an hours shop time or more

Hammer on the wratchet, long breaker bar, etc. Force is the only way. Lots of it.

Anybody know the Part # or Thread/Pitch of this bolt (Upper left header bolt).

Just called my local dealership and they want $6 and I have to wait two days. What a joke.
