Depends what you want it for.

4-2-1 low end power
4-1 high end power

what I have heard...

4-2-1 bottom, mid range

4-1 top end, and bling bling factor

both are better then stock in all ranges..

For a b16a? A DC 4-1 is better....... and if you can spring for it, get a stainless.....

4-1 has more ground clearance issues also, and how often do you spend at 6,500 rpm+ that where the 4-1 out does the 4-2-1, below 6,500 the 4-2-1 makes more power.

Be realistic if you are street driven miles, the 4-2-1 is best choice, at drage strip or road course then just maybe the 4-1 has a slight edge. but at the expense of lower rpm power.

Actually, you are wrong. It is a set of head PIPES. Back in the day they started to call them headers for short. Multiple head pipes = a set of headers. you dont where a pant, or a short on your legs, do you?

well put my friend

how much are you looking to spend and does your car have clearance for a 4-1? w/ a stock crossmember unless you bang it, the 4-1 headers arent going to fit

not the same. it's a pair of pants........ not a pair of headers.

with your reasoning, all the manufacturers are completely wrong when they label their product as a 4-1 header, etc...... headers are for V-6s, V-8s, hence a pair, or more.

Wrong

Stainless may Discolor from Heat, but will Never Rust like the Ceramic does after Extended use. I am running a DC 4-2-1 Ceramic Header, Heat Wrapped and POR-15 Coated.....Helps keep underhood Temps cool and its still Nice and Clean with 2.5 Years of use.

you are wrong. i had a 4-2-1 Stainless HP racing header on my B18. guess what... it was rusting from years of use. they discolor first, then they turn burnt black, and look like absolute ****. I had a dc 4-2-1 on my d16z6 for a year and it still looked like the day i installed it. My friend has a Del Sol VTEC with a DC 4-2-1 1 piece ceramic.. he's had it for almost 3 years and it still looks new. All the stainless headers i've seen that have been used look like absolute **** after a couple months.

Nope, Try again.

Ever seen a DC Sports Stainless header after years of use? Looks perfect, with Discoloration....Obviously your experience has been limited to Low Quality parts when it comes to Stainless....Possibly cause it was just a Stainless "Look" Header.

Thanks for playing!

Mike

Raises glass in air ( ) This contestant has definatly done his home work. Cerminic does rust in record time if not taken care of. Stainless due to it's nature changes color with heat with shades of purple, blue, green and some others. Everthing has a trade off. Just like your decision to use a 4-1 or 4-2-1. I suggest you read carefully about your choice of headers. Or find people who have both kinds and ask them how it changed the car. For each one typically has 2 difference charastics. Each is disigned for 2 different purposes. Only one catch to stainless not rushing. If you use regular weld or a non steel weld to modify the header. Watch it rust.

i was looking at some 4-2-1 pcs and it looks like there is an accomodation for an o2 sensor at the end of the pipe

not to mention that SS headers are higher quality metal, they will not dent near as easy as a ceramic coated header if you accidentally scrape
