Default Letting car sit while Headwork is being done

I'm off at college right now, but am coming back one of these weekends to take off my 96 GSR head and have it sent to be P&P'd. The turn around time is 5-6weeks for the work, would it damage anything to leave the engine w/o a head for that extended period of time? I'm in VA and winter is approaching so the engine will experience cold, also I have no indoor garage, so the car will be sitting outside for the time.

Id just poor some oil down in the cylinders and spray the rest down with some wd40(or thicker) lube of some kind just to keep corrosion away.

Edit: also cover the block with rags to prevent any dirt/water getting to it

no, but I'd cover up the open area of the motor to keep it clean and not allow excess dust/dirt etc... to get on it.

once the head is off take some WD-40 and spray cylinders with oil and turn engine over a few times per hole. Then take some motor oil and wipe cylinders down real good. Take some duct tape and tape the top of the engine so its seals off.
That will work
