Should I swap my stock engine for a built up one that makes 196hp and 139tq
I have a oppurtunity to swap my stock B18C5 for a friends JDM B18C-R, it is not a straight up swap, i give a list of what I will be getting:
81.5mm endyne pistons 12.3:1 comp
Toda Spec A's
Ported and polished head, by TopSpeed performance
aem cam gears
portflow inners, i think he may just have stock type r
Ported JDM 4-1
comptech flywheel
wellthats the just of it there may be some more details that i left out, but those are the big parts
I was at the dyno with him on saturaday, and the engine made 196hp, and 139tq, so the engine puts out.
All i am worried about it if i do this I will not have a warrenty on anything for my cr, this engine has 4500 miles on it, how long do you think it will last.
Somebody help me solve my this problem, I just need some direction
ALSO how Much more money should I give him, if we trade my stock engine for this on.

I wouldn't if I were you. I mean, your car is new and 100% legit. Who knows the "true" origins of his motor. Ever wonder why he wants to trade? Plus 196 with Spec A's and his pistons seems feasible. But you can do the same with B's on your motor without swapping pistons.
Not to mention the fact that you can say bye-bye to your warranty while your at it.

I said it above, and I'll say it once more. Don't do it! Now here are the pro's and cons.
PRO's: more hp
CON's: possibly stolen motor, Your R loses value since it's no longer #'s matching, kiss your warranty good bye, and, engine failure may occur at any time with a "built" motor.

Nah. Don't do it. What's the fun in that?
Why don't you build up your own motor/car?

exactly. Plus liek mentioned above you wont have matcing numbers anymore. You will take a big hit in value with that.

That would be a nice longblock to have as a spare... Your stocker will be stock and intact with warranty...
