D16 Power?
Hey, I was at the track today to see what my car would run stock b4 I swap and what not and some one their told me this... I wanna kno if it will work..
He said I could run a low 14 with my SOHC if I bought LS rods, and crankshaft, B16 Pistons, GSR Cam, and the Mini Me intake manifold with a LS throttle body.. along with getting my head port and polished, Fake J's intake, MSD Ignition, wires, Distributor and a JDM DC Header with a Apexi WS Exhaust... The Engine is a 97 EX engine in a 97 HX and he told me to get the stock EX ECU chipped... What do you think about this set up and if it would even work?
Also he told me I could use the eclipse Fuel injectors, turbo, Blow off valve, and side mount intercooler and just get a AEM FPR, and a cheap Boost Controler and have my car turbo and it will run high 13's...
Should I do this or save up for a swap and mods?

I think you should completely ignore that guy.
He has no clue.
He's mixed two different engine families.
(though some of that is possible..coughLSrodsandTB)
Read up more, you'll be better off.

the rods will work. never heard of a minime intake manifold. gsr cam wont work, dont think they make a jdm dc header for d-series, just port ur stock tb out, it wont help all that much anyways. dont think b16 pistons or ls crankshaft will work either.
get the ls rods; they will have to be machined to work. get zc pistons, ur intake manifold is fine. get a zex street/strip cam (59300), skunk 2 valvesprings and retainers, port and polish. dc header and if u want a new intake manifold, get the new edelbrock one, and just port out ur stock tb.

He said the block has to be machined for it to work along with the head...Thanx alot guys for your help..O and the IM he is talking about it the one that looks like the throttle body is facing up not side ways.

you dont want that im, thats the one from the y7 (non-vtec). stick w/the y8 one.

that link wont work cause there is . between http and //. but i believe it should b http:// not http.//
a mini me intake manifold is vague cause there are a few choices of vtec heads to choose from. if you decide to get a larger TB like a gsr or something be sure to port match the intake manifold

woh! You definantely don't want the im with the throttle body facing upwards....like stated above stick with the y8 intake manifold. You want one that has the tb facing the side not the top.

they wont fit. thats why they wont work. The pistons have a larger bore, the crank has a different stroke, and the cam..just plain wont fit.
