Default B16 Head on B18 Block

I have searched for the answer to this question, but have found nothing...

I am going to install a B16 (Vtec) head on my B18 (Vtec) block. Does anyone know if I also have to install a B16 intake manifold and throttle body? I think the B18 manifold/throttlebody will bolt up, but I am not 100% sure, and I don't want to waste my time to put the B16 head on, if I have to take it off because I need to replace other parts...

im guessing from your signature that you have a gsr so no the intake manifold from your b18 will not fit onto a b16 head

Any particular reason why you are switching to a B16 head? The manifold will not work.

Yeah...The B16 head will give the B18 more compression. Then add a thinner head gasket for even better compression...

you'll have to use the b16 intake manifold with the B16 head... GSR intake mani and TB are different than the b16's.

wouldn't new pistons be cheaper than a head swap?

putting a b16 head on a gsr will not give u more compression, it will do the oppisite!you will be lowering the compression. Do some more research b4 u do this mod !! and that b16 mani will not bolt up to a gsr block either. If you want to raise the compression on a GSR you will either have to chage the head gasket get teh head milled or replace the pistion with some p30's or some pct's!
