i know you guys are talking about doing a fastest street car shootout in california.....but setting up a date somewhere like joliet would be alot better for the entire united states. the fastest street cars are in the east anyways......

Frank Hype up a power adder and all motr street class shoot out, some where in the middle for everyone.
Maybe classes for 4 cylinder fwd's with 6 cylinder fwd's street class rules, also awd
Allmotor along same lines street class rules.
Also maybe a 6 cylinder and 4 cylinder rwd class.
I would type rules but Karl is good at that. Jason

just race the Pro-Am classes at the IDRC events and not only do you win money and stuff... there you can claim being the fastest street cars. thats what the class is all about... plus you get to be in DRAG Sport if you win the class at the event..

haha, that doesn't suprise me. why not have the finals at a real track then. joliet is the best track thats somewhat in the middle of the country, but if you wanna get real, then have it at Etown or maple grove.

Its going to be difficult to please everyone... and to have the event at a midway place will still be difficult for many. We know there are handful of FAST STREET CARS, but how many can really afford to even go from East Coast to Chicago. or from Cali to Chicago.
Just make a West coast shootout and an East Coast shootout. Wont be the perfect solution, but at least it is feasible than having just 1 event.

well, your hearts in the right place thats for sure. but even 2 separate events are 1 too many. these guys should compete against one another, heads up, under the same weather and track conditions. and if they get a track like joliet, the quickest guys are gonna show. the ones that want the recognition and have the desire will be the ones that show. 2 events is fine, but we already have an idea of who's the quickest, taking it one step further would be to have them all run heads up at the same event.

route 66 raceway is undoubtedly the best facility in the nation. having the "fastest street car shootout" at this event would benefit all that competes. racers break records and set new ones at this venue. the drive from CA is not that bad. it can be done in about 35-hours!

35 hrs is a long drive to me. How long is it coast to coast like 50 hrs straight driving? It's a good idea.

i dont see what all the fuss is about. if people are too lazy to drive out to chicago to prove they have the fastest ride, then forget it... throw in the towel. id go out to chi town to kick some cali ***.

but honestly i dont really know what this topic is about since the OriGinal post was deleted.

What kind of payout would there be for this event? Other than claiming to have the fastest street car in a particular class. I just missed an event back home for the fastest outlaw street cars and the payout for that one was $50,000 (biggest payout ever for that class). But that was all V8's and none of them can really be driven on the street.

I would love to see a Import Streetcar Shootout. I do also believe that the East Coast has the fastest cars!

houstons a good trac and 1/2 way for both coasts for the most part. Or Dallas

Just a thought and you could race there after the season ends for all the sanctons whch would attract more poeple.
