Default for those of you with a SI-R suspension...

do any of you run a set of hx rims with the eg6 suspension? if so, did you need wheel spacers and if that was required, how many inches did it need spacing?

here is my dilemma, i have the si-r suspension because i wanted the larger rotors and beefier suspension components. well, i have the hx rims and from the looks of things, the rims will not clear the caliper. i was told not to space it more than a 1/4 of an inch with the spacers (advice from pep boys clerk). but i'm getting a set of skunk 2 extended wheel studs so if i go more than 1/4 of an inch, should it pose as a problem since i'm getting the wheel studs?

and there is a bracket on the caliper that bothers me. this is what rubs against the rim and i'm thinking of cutting it so the rim can clear it if the spacers don't work. it doesn't look as if it would compromise the structural integrity of the caliper. HELP PLS. thanks.

The rims will not clear the front calipers. The back end will be fine though.

The Hx has different calipers then all other civics to accomdate the special rims. From what I heard a piece of the calipers was shaved off at the factory.....I don't think cutting a little off the calipers would hurt you. Good Luck.

by SIR do you mean Honda Civic Si US spec?

I bought a wrecked Si....the suspension for the most part was still good. I didn't swap it all onto my car, just the back end. I left the front sway bar and lower arm on the Si when I trashed it. I took off the complete rear end, and all the shocks, and transplaned them onto my car. I tried to put the Hx rims on the Si when it was in my garage, but they wouldn't fit. I am not sure if a spacer would work or not.
