careful cuz if they are not designed to be on all the time because they are high beams...they will burn out very fast.
ask anyone who has done the conversion.
that includes me.

You can get them at autozone..they are German bulbs. I used to have the silverstars and I compared them to my friend who has them
EXACT same thing.
They are just regular highbeam bulbs so they shouln't burn out that quickly.

I thought you were going to say that Sylvania Silverstars are coated w/ crap that decreases their light output bleow that of Osram Silverstars, their filament is overstressed (= short life)and the average lifespan for ANY 9005 bulb is 250 hours.
Oh, and that $50 is alot of money for a couple of ******* light bulbs.
They aren't even rated for the max wattage of 65 watts in 9005 or 55 watts in 9006.

My 9005 Cool Blues lasted 1.5 years, which is plenty long enough for a $20 pair of bulbs.

Curious, these silverstar bulbs, are these something that people dig for? Or its just something that is closest to HID.. or any reviews about these silverstar bulbs?
....................$50 for silver star...hMm..must be something about them that people "like" so much?

thats an imagestation pic.. so add .orig.jpg for better look...
but yes.. these lights DO put down more (white, not stock yellow
)light
ask anyone whose went to these from stock-- not saying im gonna spend $30 every six months they burn out!!
I'll probably go back to stock, since i dont drive much at night-- save up for real HID
definite improvement over those stock candlesticks tho!!

me too, i just picked some up at NAPA at they work just fine.....as far as the comparison to SilverStars....i'd like some pics to see for myself.....but 6.99 is just fine for me
doesn't make my car faster or perform better so i don't waste much time with cosmetics myself

It's BS. People think 10-15% more light is worth double the price b/c it is coated so it LOOKS like HID.
autolamps-online.com can get real euro-spec bulbs like Philips Premium that have a 50% increase over stock output and no coating to make folks THINK they're getting some sort of HID substitute.

They look whiter b/c they're coated to reduce output at the yellow end of the spectrum and shift it toward blue, just like HIDs. They are brighter, but that has nothing to do with color.
