Gee I dunno'. Four wheels. Hatchback. Kinda' looks like a focus to me.
Seriously, I think it really is the styling trend de' jour for all these hatchbacks to take on a similar shape. We see it in the similarities of so many designs these days, whether they be hatch, coupe or sedan.

Sounds like that will be a good time to trade in my EP, if the USDM iteration of the GTI holds true to these pictures.

I really have no idea how VW compare to our Hondas.</TD></TR></TABLE>
MKIV VW's are macpherson strut front/solid beam rear axle. Actually pretty outdated stuff but a rigid chassis nonetheless. The only production version of the MKIV that handles at all is the 337/20th AE versions of the GTI which have revised f/r anti roll bars, Audi TT struts all around (with 1 inch lower spring), Audi TT brakes all around, and the Audi TT's cable shifted 6 spd. The 5 spd cars are also cable shifted.
VW promises that the MKV (which will be 4 wheel independent suspension) will capture the raw feel of the original GTI with lots more power and refinement rolled into one. Lets see what happens when the car hits our shores...

VW still ownz. If I were to get any euro car, it would either be a Golf, Jetta or Passat. Unless I had like 250k then I'd get a Carrera GT, GT2, or Vanquish (I can only dream). Anyhow, this new Golf is great looking, it's a newer gen hatch, like the EP3, so they're gonna look similar. I don't know, that's my theory anyways, most new cars have some similarities between them. Hopefully, it will be more powerful, mod'able and can launch before and after upgrades. If they give us that and keep it priced right, we'll have a bunch of GTi vs EP3 threads and such. Good times.
