Anyone used the J's Racing Air duct? (Only applicable on JDM DC2)
I'm thinking of getting this because I have the Comptech Icebox and would like to actually take advantage of the cold air portion. I wonder if this might give a Ramair effect??? Hmmm
Any thoughts? If you need to see what it looks like, check out the product on http://www.jdmhondaparts.com

I have had it for a month now, I like it a alot it sounds nice and seems to perform well.
I might be selling mine if it does not fit on the AEBS IM, just give me a few days

No, not the intake, the air duct!

Looks like chit on the red front end but mine is black! I think this could really aide in the performance of the Comptech unit. But I'm not usre how easy it is to remove that small grille piece- Hope I don't have to cut!!!

Ummmmm.....dude, you're going to have to cut the plastic piece out. I do not see how else you would get that duct to work without cutting. You might not need to cut the whole thing out, but you would at least have to cut a hole in it for the air to pass through. I've been looking at this part too, but I don't know how much of a difference it would make.
I think this would rock if you had a pipe down there with mouth on it to catch the air- especially if it was connected- Which the comptech won't, but would still help!
I was thinking that the stock piece might pop out, but I guess I will have to cut- I wish this piece was a little smaller and fit like a factory foglight for Civic's. T1R where are you?

I don't think those would look that bad if they were painted the color of the car (You can also get FRP instead of CF)
You could always just cut out the back of the duct on the bumper, it would be a bit less visually noticeable and it's free

I think the Carbon duct looks great. Why wouldnt one want one if you are wanting something of the sorts. Evil Mike M is right though, and its a free mod if you choose his route
damn, why does that look so familiar???
oh yeah - cause I cut a whole in my USDM bumper and did the same thing:
(without any fancy carbon fiber jdm bling though
)
Cold air rocks, but there are cheaper ways to go then that...

I would do homemade ducting unless it were a show car. Although i love the black teg i posted, its just too much of a Free Mod to spend tons of loot on or cut a high dollar bumper for.
i have had this on my car for a lil over half a year. i have 4" ducting directed to the engine bay to the j's cf intake. i'm not sure if there was a difference because i changed the j's intake with it. however, i did have the AEM CAI before that. i would say with both of the j's units there was comparable differences compared w/ the AEM CAI.
for the AEM CAI there was a lag in throttle response coming out of a turn. i hated that. i mean, u definitely felt that lag. sorta like a turbo spooling up. with the j's intake, and air duct w/ ducting, most of the lag was eliminated. this was all tested at the track. i would say if you dynoed it, you can't really see the difference. but at speeds of 80mph plus, the amount of cold air to the filter is dramatically increased.
maybe when i have the time and i am not doodling w/ my new bike, i'll go back to big willow and see what lap times i get.
hoped that helped. oh yeh, installation was a breeze. just cut out the fake looking vent part on the JDM bumper. apply adhesive tape that comes with the unit, and voila.
i have driven the car in HEAVY RAIN. the ducting doesn't seem to carry the water up to the filter.
