Default 98 GSR Tranny locked...Help!

I have a 98 Gsr tranny which locked up in 1st gear. The car will not move, I can not even get it into neutral. I had to have the car towed and it was jerking when the car was pushed backwards. Anyone have any suggestions as to what the prob could be??????

probably a broke clutch spring!
with the engine off can you get it out of gear, and into any other gear?

My problem is when the motor is on and off, it does not matter, I still can not get it into any gear. It is locked up. Also, I did not smell any clutch. I had to go to 6500 rpm's to get the car to move out of the intersection. When this ordeal happened, I heard a pop like something fell out and it even forced the face off of the stereo inside the car. Any suggestions?

I am in the process of pulling the linkage out now. Any suggestions on how to get the pin out. It has been a pain in the *** so far!

cold chisel or brass punch and hammer will get linkage pin out, but it is not your linkage.

Buddy, I hate to tell you this but I think your tranny is fucked. Most likely you spun a synchro on one of the gears now the tranny is stuck in gear and the synchro that would dis-engage it is now done for. I'm pretty much in the same situation as you except I have two trannies in the same condition, hopefully, the same synchro didn't break in both my trannies so I may be able to piece one together out of the two.
