Default Too much fuel = slow car?

I still have the Vortech Fuel Rail, FPR and Walbro Fuel Pump from when I was running Nitrous in the car. I don't have the stock fuel pump anymore. I raced ITRChris (in a controlled environment) in his bone stock ITR and I could only put a little over a car on him and it was all because of 1st & 2nd gear. ATS Final Drive, Toda flywheel, toda clutch, JDM 4:1 Header, carsound cat, injen intake, brand new shortblock, basically brand new head (thanks D & P1 auto) and suspension. The R does weigh more than his due to the rollbar, but still, it should be WAY faster and I do have mad street racing skillz. Too much fuel = slower car?

Did you retard your timing when you were running "the squeeze" and forgot to advance it after your NOS experience?

Did you have your E-brake on?

Did you change your plugs? Nitrous eats 'em!

No, the e-brake was not on.

Yes, the plugs have been changed.

A "street race" comparo is not very scientific start to your question - too many variables to list.

Get the car dynoed and stick a wideband in the tailpipe.

And yes - a car that is too rich will be slower - but what are you expecting? To put 4 car lengths between you and the stock R??

I realize your scientific response as the clutches and drivers are both different. I'm not expecting 4 car lengths, just a quicker jump due to ATS. Putting 4 car lengths on a stock R with the basic modifications done isn't an unrealistic thing though.

Marc, Too much fuel will make the car "slower" if the mix is way to rich, but you should be able to tell if it was.

When are we gonna have another SoFL wetodd meet?!? hehe

just check your plugs, that is old school tech, it will tell you if your running to much fuel or not. If they don't look a nice brown color than change them. And of course black=rich white=lean. that will solve your fueling question once and for all
