removing crank pulley bolt...but
while the motor is on an engine stand...no flywheel to hold. ?
Service manual mentions a tool, my local honda dealership never has any "special tools" in stock. Any ides? My air tools don't have enough umph either. This is B16 that looks like it's been sitting at Nippon for awhile.
thanks all...

I think summit has a tool that inserts into the pulley to hold it, it is hexagon shaped to fit the hexagon on the pulley and it has a hole in the middle so you can insert your socket in and a handle to hold onto it so it doesn't move. Someone posted awhile back their own homemade version but i'm not sure where that pic is.
GO to home depot, lowes or whatever place you got out there and look
for a bar with a chain attached. I dont know the exact name but its
a tool that plumbers use to turn pipes with nothing to grab on to.
Get the largest one you can find and use that to hold onto the
crank pulley while you go at the bolt with a breaker bar.

their always secretly hidden in other tech's toolboxes!
all good ideas, if you do really want that tool, it is a moroso part, in the moroso catalog, it is 61805, honda/acura crankshaft pulley wrench, though i'd imagine it's at least 40-50 dollars, when a strap wrench is considerably less... where's your flywheel?

I was on a Snap-On truck the other day and they had a tool made for the Honda balancer pully. You attached it to a breaker bar. It was about $60.
You don't need to hold it if you use an impact wrench.
If you're using a breaker bar. take out a sparkplug and insert about 8" of nylon rope into the chamber. make sure it's BTDC w/ the valves closing.
