lowering a 2001 accord, help please
Hey... i tried searching first and couldnt find anything, so if you can please help it would be greatly appreciated
A few weeks ago, i tried to install lowering springs on my friends 2001 accord... Ive done at least 6-7 different cars, so im not totally clueless when it comes to installing springs..
I thought we were gonna blow right through it, but it didnt go down like that...
On the rear susp. I removed the top strut bolts, and the main one at the bottom.. However, the whole assembly didnt want to drop, it actually wanted to pull itself up. Well.. i tried to slide the strut off the bottom to remove it, but theres some kinda crazy brace arm keeping it from sliding off.. This arm was bolted to something else, etc etc...
The rear suspension on this car was so confusing, i was afraid to remove any bolts i didnt have to. The whole thing just felt under pressure, and i didnt think i'd be able to get a bolt back in after removing it..
anyone have detailed ins or even a walk through with pics? thank you

I have a 98 accord, so it's the same thing. you just remove the two top strut bolts and the one bolt at the bottom of the strut. the a-arm does tend to spring upwards, so you need a long bar and have someone pry it down while you remove the strut and spring. i recommend upgrading the struts while you're at it cause the stocks won't last long. mine blew out after 6 months. it may be my agressive driving too, cause i just bolted up my third set of struts.
