Default What next for my all motor setup.....hondata?

Alright. Most of you have probably already seen my dyno graph I posted up last week. Now I have just received my cam gears so that should help me push out some more power and adjust my powerband. My question is: What should be my next mod? I am thinking that I should sell my VAFC and get Hondata. Because right now my ECU is still stock (redline of 8k, and my power is still climbing at 8k) and also my fuel maps are killing my power (since I switched my vtec x-over to 5700 at the dyno, my ecu is still telling my car that im in vtec mode from 4400 to 5700 therefore causing a power dip in that range where I should be climbing in power. Would a hondata fix this problem? Also, with Hondata shouldn't I be able to push out more horsepower? And can I change my redline with Hondata? I don't know much about Hondata (which model of hondata would I be using?), I am going to do a search right now and learn some things about it. I just wanted to hear some advice from you guys in the all motor forum. Thanks a lot

I would go with a hondata p28 since you have no need to control IM secondaries. The s200 system IMO is the best bang for the buck, if you contact 2K TEG he has awesome prices on it. Hondata solves the problem about the ECU still being in vtec mode or out of it, but I know that you could also correct it with a VAFC
If you drag race, you could also add the 3 step rev limiter which is also very good on the street

I just tried typing in 2K TEG under the search function. And it says there is no user under that name. I just want to be able to PM him so that I can see what he offers for prices.

Now I was just wondering which system would be best for me. I was just reading the hondata website and am overwhelmed at how much this could help out my setup. I definately am going to get this. the Hondata s200 seems to be the package I would need. What options would I want to get with the hondata?

Since I am all motor maybe the s100 would be better? I mean I am running on ITR cams nothing that radical. But am pushing a good amount of hp to the wheels. I plan on getting Greg (cheetah) to dyno this in the spring when I take the car out of the garage for the winter. Its well worth the trip to him to make sure the car is performing perfectly for my mods.

i would still get the s200, its only 50 bucks more, and if you wanted to you could upgrade to more options later

Thanks for the reply. That definately does make sense. I just checked the website and its 295 for the s200 without the extra options. Does anybody offer a lower price for them brand new?

If I can upgrade after I install then I will have to say go with the s200 myself. This should help me push out some more power and it will be a better tuning device.

This means that I don't need my VAFC anymore right.

Yeah, dump the VAFC. Only drawback is finding a good tuner for your Hondata. I'm sure you'll get plenty of suggestions on this board though.

I was under the assumption that you were going to go visit greg aka CHEETAH...is that correct? If so he can write a program for your current ecu.

hey hondata is cheap, maybe even cheaper than a vafc, but installing it and getting it tuned is going to cost $600+.. i'm in the same boat as you, although i'm making power with my stock pr3 ecu, its killing me in my 1/4 times.. you will gain whp, but the amount of money spent on that extra 3-5 is not worth it.. talk to iH8RICERZ maybe he can make you a custom chip.. he is curently looking into a program for my setup

How do you get $600 for installing and tuning? ECU socketing is $65 from Hondata with shipping. Where does it cost $535 for tuning Hondata? I socketed my own ECU, and it cost me $300 to have my cam gears and ignition timing set, and Hondata tuned. And that is high. I paid $200 to have an LS/VTEC Hondata tuned about a year ago.

drt in queens wanted $800 installed and tuned, nrg tech in long island wanted $500 (best price ive gotten) and now i moved to florida, secret service in tampa wants $650 installed and tuned.. if i had that kind of money, i would of went with the hondata before i got the vafc.. besides vafc looks kool =o) all motor, i tink the vafc is good enough with a chipped ecu.

Hopefully those prices you are quoting include the system too. Tuning should not be that much; if it is, I am glad that I am on the West Coast.

So, the best scenario for me would be to send my ecu to Greg (cheetah)?
