Well I was getting into my car like 40 mins ago and I walk to my car that is right outside my garage. Well I notice that my dome light is on and my driver side door is craked open the signs of "BAD" !!! Well I get into my car and I see that my cluster lights are on and see that there is a key stuck in my ignition. To my surprise it was very easy to take the key out! It happend to be a acura key with acure logo and everything!!!! I insert the key and try to start my car and I see that my alarm goes off. I'm lucky that my alarm was all messed up and I don't have the light and my alarm on the doors being open is broke also!!!! So when they turned the ignition on my alarm must have gone off and scared them away. They did not take anything. My speaker or radio or radar. I guess they just wanted my car. I think I am going to put my club back on my car GRRRRRR! SO MAD!!!!!! The key amazingly is cut almost exactly the same as mine. OMG!!! WTF!!! any how I'm just glad they did not mess up my perfect dash. It already took me forever to get my damn door panels perfect on my 4th gen. GRRRR! I HATE THEIFES!

why didnt the alarm go off as soon as they opened the door?? isnt that the purpose of an alarm??
good to know that they didnt get it, although you may want to get that alarm fixed. also, a kill switch wouldnt be a bad idea, seeing as they may have other keys.
did the acura key they had work??

 

If they've got your vin and the right connections, getting an exact duplicate key is cake easy.

yea, I own a used car dealership and we have to get keys made sometimes, and a lot fo the Nissans and Acura's and some other cars we can just give them the VIN and they will cut us a key right there at the dealership without the car.

My local dealer needed proof of ownership before they gave me any info to get a new key for my old rx-7 and my honda dealer made me give him the lock code to cut me new keys for the civics after they were stolen and I had to replace the locks and ignition switch. I guess it just depends on the dealership.

Better that he knows it's a real threat...especially with a key sticking out of his ignition. Besides, any stupid car thief already knows this.

Who did you buy the car from? maybe they tried to take it back

 

God damn, everytime I read something like this I feel like getting another type of car or just leaving this one stock so I don't loose out on too much money.

 

where I live stock cars get jacked as often as modified ones.
it's the price you pay for having a Honda

 

thieves know about everything already, no-one is giving them ideas. If they want it they will take it. Don't forget all cars have master keys also. ;]
